Did you know you can come to the Club for Thanksgiving dinner? Want to stay home but don t feel like doing the cooking? We have the solution order from our Thanksgiving To-Go menu! See Page 3 of this newsletter for more details. November features some fabulous events for our Members to enjoy! The Annual Women s & Children s Shelter Dinner will be on November 18th. And as always, Friday night Is Family night offering a special children s menu. Family Night at THC on November 16th will be a little extra special as we show a Holiday movie. 4 Page 4 ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP From Chef Tripp Serves: 6; Preheat oven to 400 F 2 Large Butternut Squashes, 1-2 lbs each 1 cup honey 6 oz unsalted butter 4 Apples peeled, cored, diced 2 Yellow onions chopped 6 slices of bacon 3 cups of chicken broth 2 cups apple cider 2 cups orange juice 2 cups of heavy cream Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste Ground cinnamon to taste Ground Ginger powder Ground Nutmeg to taste 1 cup maple syrup Cut each butternut squash in half lengthwise, remove and discard seeds and fibers, brush with honey. Place on baking sheet and roast until they feel soft to touch and a knife penetrates the skin easily, about an hour. When done, scoop out the pulp into a bowl and set aside. In a saucepan over medium heat melt butter and onions, bake apples, saute until tender and translucent, 8-10 minutes. Add stock, juices and reserved squash pulp, raise heat to high, bring to boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Working in batches, puree the soup in a blender. Return to sauce pan. Add cream, spices, maple syrup, salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes. Laddle into bowls. Serve with Apple Compote and Maple Cream. Apple Compote 1/2 cup unsalted butter 3 apples peeled, cored, chopped 1/2 cup dried cranberries 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon cinnamon Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat Add sugar, cinnamon, vanilla Add apples, cranberry, cook until apples begin to soften Maple Cream 8 oz mascarpone 4 oz maple syrup 4 oz heavy cream Combine all ingredients in bowl, whisk with whip until smooth Join us for Happy Hour in the Member Lounge & Cigar Lounge! Jackets are required for dinner service on those evenings, and encouraged in the Member Lounge as well. The following are NOT acceptable: shorts, athletic attire, sneakers, flip-flops, t-shirts or other collarless shirts; halter tops, tank tops, cargo pants, sweat suits, leggings, and bare midriffs are not appropriate for Club events. This dress code is applicable to Members, Guests, and Private Event attendees. It is the Member s responsibility to inform their guests of the dress code. In the case of certain special Club events, dress code exceptions will be publicized. Management is only adhering to the Club policy set by the Board of Governors.
