The Manila Clam Ruditapes philippinarum is distributed mainly along the coasts of the Pacific and Indian Oceans and is now cultured for commercial purposes in a number of European, American, and Asian countries. In China, production of this species accounts for 90% of the total Manila Clam of the world, with more than 3 million tons produced per year In 2018, the 4th International Symposium on Manila (Asari) Clam returns to China Dalian, a popular destination among domestic tourists and foreign visitors, especially from Japan, South Korea and Russia. Its mild climate and multiple beaches as well as its importance in the modern history of China have attracted tourists. In 2007, it was one of the three cities named "China's best tourist city", along with Hangzhou and Chengdu, recognized by the National Tourism Administration and the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The ISMC 4 th programs will follow the tradition and focus on the aquaculture technology, genetics and breeding, physiology and ecology, processing and marketing. All programs have been developed to facilitate and promote communication through social events, exhibitions, workshops, plenary speeches, oral presentations in theme sessions, and poster presentation sessions.
