Crisp winter mornings and moonlit nights shimming off the snow create a spectacular view from the comfort of our cozy fireplace. The Sophia Retreat Center s location is central to many exciting educational and explorative activities for both children and adults. Mesa Verde, The Anasazi Heritage Center, Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, Native American dance performances and many other attractions are all within the local area. The unique and picturesque grounds and facilities of the Sophia Retreat Center can accommodate guests for an indoor day retreat, 50 guests overnight, and up to 250 guests for an outdoor catered tent event. Gather with family and friends in our Grand Room with vaulted aspen ceiling and large stone fireplace or enjoy our pool table and game room. We have spa packages available. From Farmington, New Mexico (Four Corners Regional Airport): 1.75 hrs Take Airport Drive, Turn Right onto W.

4 Our Location The Sophia Lodge is located on the Mesa above Dolores. We are 50 minutes northwest of Durango, 1.25 hours southwest of Telluride, and 15 minutes north of Cortez. The Four Corners area of the United States, marking the point of intersection between the borders of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, is known for its rich cultural and natural history. From Farmington, New Mexico (Four Corners Regional Airport): 1.75 hrs Take Airport Drive, Turn Right onto W. Main Street, which becomes US-64, Take US-64 West to NM-170 (La Plata Hwy) NM-170 becomes CO-140 once you cross the Colorado/ New Mexico border- (about 43 miles total) Turn Left in Hesperus on US-160, Go 24 miles to Mancos Turn Right on Main St CO 184 towards Dolores - go 19 miles Turn Right onto 145 North - Dolores is 1.6 miles Turn Left on 11th Street right before the Riverside Gas Station. 11th Street will become County Road 31, winding to the right and up the mountain- Proceed 1.7 miles. Broadway (US-160, 789) Go 1 to 2 miles, follow road to the right onto W. Main Street Go through the city of Cortez (about 2 miles) Turn Left on CO 145 (Dolores Rd) to Dolores go 10 miles Turn Left on 11th Street right before the Riverside Gas Station. 11th Street will become County Road 31, winding to the right and up the mountain- Proceed 1.7 miles. Outdoor Activities The Sophia Lodge is central to a myriad of recreational activities, including golfing, gold medal fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, skiing, kayaking, expert mountain biking, hiking, winter train rides, scenic drives, Native American dances, and horseback riding. 6 Facility Policies & Refunds Check-in is at 4pm and Check-out is at 11am. (Different times may be arranged) Refunds: The Sophia Retreat Center requires a $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve the date of your event. The total amount of your invoice will be due upon receipt. Please send only one check per organization or private party. If you make a cancellation more than 90 days prior to the reserved date of your event, we will gladly refund the full invoice, minus the deposit. If you make a cancellation more than 30 days prior to the reserved date, we will gladly refund 50% of the invoice, minus the deposit. Less than 30 days prior to the reserved date, there will be no refund. We do not make exceptions to our refund policy, and we thank you for your understanding of this policy. No Outside Alcohol: It is illegal to bring alcohol onto The Sophia Retreat Center premises. We will provide all alcoholic beverages upon request. All those consuming alcoholic beverages need to be of legal age. Anyone appearing underage will be asked to show ID. If there is any underage drinking on the premises, a county sheriff will be called immediately. No Smoking: There is no smoking within any part of our facility. A charge starting at $120 per room will be added to your bill if there is any apparent smoke or cigarette damage. There are designated smoking areas outside. Additional Charges: Charges will be applied for use of fax, copy, long distant phone usage, additional beverages, or any apparent damage to rooms, facilities, grounds & flora.
