2 Quarterdeck Dining The Quarterdeck is a raised deck behind the main mast of a sailing ship and traditionally it was where the Captain commanded his vessel and was the main ceremonial and reception area on board. Ancient traditions offered special deference to the Quarterdeck where special respect was given and all hands were required to salute whenever one entered the Quarterdeck. In modern times Quarterdeck refers not to a specific deck, but to a ceremonial area designated as such by the Captain, and is used as the ships reception area whilst in harbour. In port, the Quarterdeck is the most important place on the ship. Quarterdeck Dining presents a light filled dining room with an alfresco area offering views across Dolphin Quays on the Mandurah Ocean Marina. It is your Ceremonial Area.
