Every Girl Scout Cookie season is special, but this year when you step behind your cookie booth, you will be representing a tradition that has endured for an entire century. This year, Girl Scouts celebrates 100 years of the Girl Scout Cookie Sale. We are so proud to count you among the thousands of girls and young women who have spent the past century turning a small community service project into the largest girl-led business on the planet. We know you ve got what it takes to have a successful cookie season, but we ve put together some fun resources you can use to promote your cookie business just in case you need it. This year s cookie sale runs from January 18 February 26. Social Media One of the best ways to get the word out about your cookie business is to promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and other social media outlets. You can use social media to create a community for your customers, show your Girl Scout sisters what you re up to, and let people know when and where your booth will be open for business. 4 Share detailed examples of what your girl could accomplish because of the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Instagram INSTAGRAM TIPS Instagram is the perfect place to tell stories with images. Post photos and memes that will grab people s attention! To accompany your images, use any of the above text suggested for Facebook or Twitter. You can t share links in Instagram posts, but you can change the link in your profile to either your cookie business URL or the Girl Scouts cookie locator URL (bit.ly/findgscookies). Then, end each post with link in profile. Snapchat GSCTX JOINS SNAPCHAT! Attention, GSCTX Girl Scouts! To celebrate our 100 years of powering possibilities through cookies, we re thrilled to announce that the Girl Scouts of Central Texas Council can now be found on Snapchat! Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes of events such as the Gold Award Centennial, Cookie Sales, or any of our other fun girl events and activities? Follow us at gsctx_official and find out for yourself! Our official launch will happen at Megadrop (January 13 and 14). 6 Steps to Cookie Sale Success 1. Tell them about your cause! If you have a service goal, make posters to tell customers about it. Let them know how many cookie packages you need to meet your goal! 2. Help them find their favorites! Create posters that target what customers love. Try these: Love chocolate? Get your Thin Mints and Caramel delites here! Love peanut butter? You ll love Peanut Butter Patties! Trefoils great with coffee! 3. Collect cookie donations. Start or join a Gift of Project: Customers can buy cookies to donate to the military or other community group and girls deliver the donations. At your cookie booth, decorate and clearly label a large collection box so customers know they can help! 4. FREE samples! (You ll need to pay for the box yourself.) Create a sampler platter of cookie pieces so customers can try the different varieties! GSCTX COOKIES TOOLKIT

5 5. Say it with style! Posters are great, but there are lots of other ways to get your message out: Wear concession boxes made from copy paper box lids to hold your cookies. Carry picket signs in bright colors. Make and wear your own buttons to communicate important information. Create your own unique jingle! 6. Grab their attention with your booth. Make it irresistible. Use a colorful tablecloth, play music, hang balloons whatever it takes to get attention. Our shop has great posters, tablecloths, t-shirts, cookie cutouts, and more that you can use to bling your booth. However, be sure to follow the guidelines of your booth sponsor. Some sponsors prefer visuals only.
