6 EMA Enterprises EMA Enterprises began here in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The founder and president of the company, Mike Leeuw, owns and operates: Michelle s on Gull Road in Kalamazoo Michelle s on Romance Rd in Portage Michelle s on Red Arrow Highway, Mattawan Michelle s on Sprinkle Rd. Kalamazoo Andrea s Café and Pizza Too in Galesburg Liz s Parkview Café in Richland Treat Street, Oakwood Plaza In addition to the restaurants, EMA also operates: EMA Catering The Capital Region International Airport in Lansing Indian Lake Nazarene Camp Western Michigan University, providing concessions for all athletic events. The name EMA was created using the initials of Mike and Jane Leeuw s three daughters; Elizabeth, Michelle, and Andrea. While living in Kalamazoo, each daughter worked in the restaurants, before attending colleges outside of Kalamazoo. All three daughters are currently living in Ohio, after graduating with degrees in order to pursue their individual careers. Mike Leeuw created this company based on the idea of family and friends. Therefore, his restaurants specialize in providing casual and family friendly environments.
