They were done with school for the day. helping Who was helping the girl? The conductor helps the girl step off the train. He holds her hand. She stepped down off the train.

A dishwasher is a machine for washing dishes. It uses soap and water to clean food off the dishes. Dirty dishes go in the dishwasher to get washed. tire What color is this tire? This tire is black. It is made of black rubber. There are four tires on a car.

It is crunchy cereal. I eat cereal in a bowl with a spoon. hurt When did you hurt your ankle? I hurt it yesterday. It still hurts. It will be better soon. boots When do you wear your boots? I wear my boots in the rain. They keep my feet dry. I have a pair of boots. sunset When is it sunset? Sunset is when the sun goes down. It will soon be dark. The sun is mostly behind the clouds. ball Where is my ball? The ball is outside on the deck. It is next to the bat. I found it.

The chip fell on the counter. clouds Where is the sun? It is behind the clouds. It is still daytime. They are rain clouds. It might rain. sledding Where is he going? He is going to go down the hill. It is a winter day. He is sledding. sink Where is this sink? It is in the kitchen. It is full of soapy water. I am ready to wash the dishes. bus Where does the bus stop? It stops at the mall. They are already on the bus. The bus doors are closed.

They are skyscrapers. The sky is blue above the city. teeth Where would you find these teeth? These teeth are in her mouth. They are used to chew food. When I smile, I show my teeth. bathtub Where is the bathtub? The bathtub is in the bathroom. It can be filled with water. I take a bath when I am dirty. toothbrush Where do you keep your toothbrush? I keep my toothbrush in the bathroom. I put toothpaste on my toothbrush. I brush my teeth in the morning and before bedtime. boat Why are the people on the boat? The people went to see the whales. They are done. The boat is returning to the harbor.

There are three keys on the ring. dog Why do you think the dog is frowning? She is wondering who is coming near her. She is going to smell my hand. She will find out that I am friendly. fire Why did they light the logs on fire? They are having a bonfire. It was cold outside. A fire will keep you warm. windy How can you tell it is a windy day? The branches on the trees are moving. They are bending over. The wind is blowing hard. plane How many engines are on this plane? There are four engines. They are on the wings. This is a propeller plane.

8 mud How do you make mud? Mud is made when dirt and water mix together. It rained on the dirt. It turned to mud. eggs How many eggs are in the carton? There are three eggs. They are white. One, two, three eggs in the carton. sandwich How do you make a sandwich? Get out the bread, peanut butter, and jelly. You spread peanut butter on the bread, then the jelly. Put the pieces together and eat the sandwich. shower How hot is the water? This water is just right. It is not too hot and not too cold. It is time to take a shower. bridge How do cars go over waterways? They drive over a bridge. We are traveling in the right lane. This is a long bridge. tape How do you listen to music? I put a tape in the tape player. It is a cassette tape. You can record music and talk on a cassette tape.

9 cows Which cow is brown? The cow in the front is brown. They are in the field. There is a cow behind the brown cow. dirty Which sock is clean? The sock on the right is clean. They are different. The sock on the left is dirty. map Which road will we take? I don t know. Let s look on the map. It is still folded. After we unfold the map, we can look at the roads. juice Which is the glass of juice? The glass of juice is on the right. It is already poured. The orange juice pitcher is on the left. candy Which piece of candy would you like? I would like the sucker. I choose the red sucker. I only eat one piece of candy a day. house Which is the roof and which is the chimney? The roof is black. It is shaped like a triangle. The chimney is white, and shaped like a rectangle.

They enjoy swimming. They eat weeds that grow in the water. lions Are they sleepy? The lions look sleepy. Maybe they will take a nap. I close my eyes when I take a nap. switch Is the switch on or off? It is on. I turned it on this morning. Tonight, you can turn it off. French fries Do you like French fries? I do.
