1 Where there are no strangersonly friends that haven t met yet - Irish Proverb Welcome to our dream Mackey s is named after our grandpa, Thomas Mackey Grove who was an avid lottery player. Even before he passed-away, he d slip money to visitors from his hospital bed asking them to buy him a lottery ticket. Grandpa Grove had always said he would buy us a restaurant with his winnings. Although he never won, we come from a family used to doing things the hard way which is part of our heritage from Grandpa as well. In honor of Grandpa and all of our ancestors who worked hard for their dreams, we opened Mackey s a place for unique, homemade food served casually for hard working people like us. We hope you come back often one visit and you are a valued part of our family! -Shawn & Angie Grove The old Mackey House in Ireland where Great Grandmother Bridgette grew up in Gouig, Castle Connell Co. Limerick, Ireland. Her grandson was our Grandpa Thomas Grove.
