They were on the continent of North America, in the country of the United States, in the state of Maryland, in the county of Howard County, in the city of Woodbine, in the Lisbon Elementary School Lion s Den watching the Lisbon Elementary School Geography Bee. Competing were 20 fourth and fifth grade contestants who were selected to participate based on their score on a preliminary round administered in Technology class to all fourth and fifth grade students several months ago. The winner of our School Bee was 5 th grader, Finn Reynolds, and our second place winner was 4 th grader, Vishvarupa Sivam. Finn will now take a test to qualify for the State Bee. Congratulations to all of our contestants. They should be very proud of their dedication to learning geography. JUMP ROPE FOR HEART: All Lisbon students received JRFH permission slips the week of November 14th. Students interested in joining us for our 34th annual JRFH need to turn in their permission slip by December 16th. We must limit the number of jumpers to 200 because of the size of our gymnasium. More information will be coming home in a few weeks. Any questions - contact Mary McCoy. YOUNG AUTHOR S CONTEST: Join in the Lisbon Elementary 14 th Annual Young Author s Contest!
