2 If you re like most Fort Bend residents, you like to relax with family and friends on the weekends. What better way to connect with your crew than to enjoy a scrumptious brunch at one of the area s many restaurants? Pull up a chair and sample what some of the best Fort Bend brunches have to offer. Black Walnut Café S.W. Fwy Comfy, over-sized chairs make guests feel at home in this cozy café, where the daily breakfast is offered until 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Try the make-your-own omelet, where you can add the usual cheese, peppers, and onions, or get adventurous and mix in pico de gallo, black beans, and jalapeños. If you re not in the mood for breakfast food, sample one of the many popular salads, sandwiches, or signature entrees. Café Adobe 2329 Hwy Stop in at Café Adobe any day of the week for a Tex- Mex brunch explosion. Bite into breakfast tacos and migas made of crispy corn tortilla chips mixed with scrambled eggs, cheese, and jalapeños. Huevos rancheros and fajitas with eggs are also popular. Make sure you drink plenty of water, because the oh-so-good food is flavored with plenty of spicy jalapenos. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Escalante s City Walk Diners come in hungry and leave happy from Escalante s Sunday brunch, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feast on omelets or French toast with maple syrup and cinnamonsliced apples. Migas, Lemon ricotta pancakes at The Cheesecake Factory breakfast tacos, and huevos rancheros are also popular and tortillas are always made fresh. Lunch and dinner items, like their delicious enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, fish, and meat entrees, are also served. Karl s at the Riverbend 5011 FM 723 Richmond Watch the creek flow and horses graze during Sunday brunch at this countryside restaurant. The view is provincial, but the food is international. Owner Chef Karl Camenzind hails from Switzerland. Brunch favorites include lamb shanks, salmon over spinach, roast beef, seafood etouffée, and Wiener schnitzel. Diners will find all the usual breakfast foods there too, including bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Over 12 different salads are on the buffet, including asparagus, duck, marinated salmon, and a traditional green salad. Desserts include apple strudel, chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, and Bavarian crème. La Madeleine 2675 Town Center Blvd. N Say bonjour to breakfast all day at La Madeleine, which serves up country French cuisine. Dip into a tasty quiche Lorraine or quiche Florentine. Custom omelets are available, as are bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and the usual breakfast fare. Croissants, crepes, and other French pastries are made fresh each day. Ooh la la! Perry s Steakhouse & Grille 2115 Town Square Place An upscale experience is always on the menu at Perry s Steakhouse and Grille, which serves brunch every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Along with eggs and bacon, try their crab cakes, Creole Benedict, Creole remoulade, and chicken cordon bleu. There s a special brunch menu for kids, and lunch and dinner favorites are also available during brunch hours. Fresh fruit compote, muffins, and honey butter are offered with all brunch entrees. Post Oak Grill 1550 Lake Pointe Pkwy., # With everything from empanadas and crab cake sandwiches to cannelloni and bread pudding, you re sure to find something to love at Post Oak Grill. Perfect for a late brunch or early lunch, the restaurant offers gorgeous views overlooking the lake and an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere. Delight in flavorful options like black bean soup, farfalle Mediterranean pasta, fried green tomatoes with crab, or roasted Muscovy duck breast drizzled in blackberry sauce. 4 The Burning Pear City Walk This restaurant is named after the prickly pear cactus; a plant burned to remove its thorns, so hungry cattle can eat it. Though the prickly pear is scorched, brunch at The Burning Pear is cooked to perfection. Fresh omelets, waffles, and other brunch-time favorites are available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Sunday. Perry s Steakhouse and Grille The Cheesecake Factory S.W. Fwy Strawberries, pecans, and Chantilly cream may sound like a yummy dessert, but they are also ingredients in The Cheesecake Factory s giant Belgian waffle, served during Sunday brunch. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., diners can order specialties like the smoked salmon platter, eggs Benedict, or the Monte Cristo sandwich, made of French toast and stuffed with bacon, ham, scrambled eggs, and Swiss cheese. Have a sweet tooth? Try the French Toast Napoleon, made with three slices of French toast and stacked with strawberries, pecans, and Chantilly cream. Is cheesecake still available during brunch hours? Of course! The Rouxpour 2298 Texas Dr New Orleans-style cuisine is dished up at The Rouxpour s brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday. Red beans and rice, boiled shrimp, cornbread stuffing, and bread pudding round out the usual breakfast foods. Co-owner Mack McDonald is originally from Baton Rouge, LA, and his partner Lincoln Ward is a native Texan. Both now live in.
