2 In The Beginning... In the early 1940 s, Ed & Romaine Baugher strived to grow the sweetest fruit and bake the freshest baked goods. Through the years as business grew they decided to construct a building from which to make and sell their products, rather than to continue the door-todoor sales they made in Soups, Salads & Appetizers downtown Westminster. In 1948 Baugher s Restaurant and Farm Market opened and at the time was considered to be one of the most modern buildings in Westminster serving only sandwiches, ice cream and sodas along with the wide variety of produce grown right on Baugher s farm. Today, three generations in the making, the operation has grown to include 800 acres of farmland and orchards. Our computerized packing house, with state-of-the-art cold storage, allows us to keep and sell apples from our fields all year long. Our bakery features Ma Baugher s homemade pies, cakes, cookies, rolls and other assorted baked goods. Our own apple cider press has been in operation since 1986, making Baugher s Apple Cider with only the freshest fruit in the safest manner. And, of course, there s the restaurant that features home cooked meals in the Baugher Family tradition of delicious. In the spring (mid May), our farm opens with pickyour-own strawberries, followed by peas, sweet cherries, sour cherries, peaches and apples. Saturdays and Sundays in October ends our season with pick-your-own pumpkins. Hay rides to and from the pumpkin patch delight children and adults of all ages.
