Each exhibitor will be assigned an exhibit number which will be placed on a sticker attached to the top of each jar. 2. All entries must be brand name canning jars. (No recycled mayonnaise jars, etc.) 3. Jars must be pint size, except for jams and jellies, which can be ½ pints. 4. Entries that are not listed in the catalog will be entered in Other than above categories unless there are at least three in that category. Then they will be entered and judged as a class. 5. Jars will not be opened. Please put rings on jars. 6. Products canned after the 2016 Roosevelt County Fair can be entered in the 2017 Fair. 7. All entries in this department should be made from research based recipes from sources like USDA, Ball Blue Book or Cooperative Extension Service publications. 7 2017 Award Announcement BALL Fresh Preserving AWARD FOR ADULT LEVEL Presented by: Ball & KERR Fresh Preserving PRODUCTS Jarden Home Brands, marketers of Ball and Kerr Fresh Preserving Products, is proud to recognize today s fresh preserving (canning) enthusiasts. First and Second Place Awards will be given to individuals judged as the best in designated categories. A panel of judges will select the two best entries submitted by an adult for Fruit, Vegetable, Pickle, and Soft Spread categories. Entries must be preserved in Ball Jars sealed with Ball Lids and Bands or Ball Collection Elite Jars sealed with Ball Collection Elite Lids and Bands, or preserved in Kerr Jars sealed with Kerr Lids and Bands. In addition, Soft Spread entries must be prepared using Ball Pectin: Classic, Low or No Sugar Needed or Liquid. Entries designated First-Place from each category will receive the following: Two (2) Five-dollar ($5) coupons for Ball or Kerr Fresh Preserving Products and one (1) Free (up to $4 value) coupon for Ball Pectin products.
