1 AAA Im ports August 2010 Page 1 AAA Imports' monthly publication for the premier dish garden, lucky bamboo & bonsai grower Volume 10, Issue 08 - August 2010 Better City, Better Life: Shanghai 2010 Expo This year's World Exposition is held in Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010 and it attracted over 200 countries and international organizations this year. The World Expo provides an opportunity for people to discuss the development of cities. This year's theme is "Better City, Better Life." Governments from all over the world came to Shanghai to discuss different cities' cultural achievements, development practices and advanced concepts, as well as explore brand new housing, living, and working models. I organized a small tour group of mostly my family and we spent 3 days at the Expo. We, however, only visited a small portion of the Expo because there was too much to see and it was too crowded. There was over 400,000 visitors per day during our visit. Some countries' pavilions were so popular, there were even waiting times over 4 hours. I, personally really enjoyed the night scenery and fountain show on the Huang Pu River. I also took many pictures of each countries' unique architectural buildings. Bob

Preheat grill for high heat. Prep Time: 30 Min Cook Time: 15 Min Ready In: 45 Min 2. Lightly oil grate. Place steak on grill and cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from heat and let sit until cool enough to handle. Slice steak into bite size pieces. 3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Mix in the cheese. Cover and place dressing in refrigerator. 4. Onto chilled plates arrange the lettuce, tomato, pepper, onion and olives. Top with steak and drizzle with dressing. Serve with crusty grilled French bread. Enjoy!

To make sure we get your orders pulled and scheduled for pick up in time, we ask that you please give us a call by 3pm the day before your pick up request. The plant transport companies [Peninsula, MCT, DTL, Tropic Transport & JT Carriers] have a fax request deadline for any pick up requests. Many of you call us on the day of pick-up. Please know we try our best to get your orders picked up but because it s past the fax deadline we can not guarantee same day pick up. So, please make sure you give us a little lead time to process your order to help guarantee your order will be picked up the week you need it. 7 AAA Im ports August 2010 Page 7 Coconut Fiber I have had a few requests for coco fi bers. Well the wait is over. We now have a variety of coco fi bers in stock. Coco fi bers are an excellent way to increase the water absorbing power of potting soil. It s widely used for soil mixes and container planting for orchids, outdoor plants, vegetables and fruits. For more information on the pricing please give us a call in the office at Tammy P DB and DB Standard Coco peat Bales and blocks - The bales & blocks are made of compressed coco peat & coir fi ber material. It can be easily watered and re-wetted. It is like soil because it absorbs more moisture and can last for up to 10 days. The standard mix is a great mix to use on vegetables and smaller fruits in out door conditions. We have the coco peat available in 0.5kg bales or you can buy them individually wrapped as well. DB Mix chip-[orchid Mix] this mix is great for orchids. It contains three materials such as standard coco peat, short fi bre and chips. These three raw materials interact among themselves bringing adequate balance in aeration and water retention capacities which is why it s a good mix for orchids. We have several pallets available in bales or you can special order them individually wrapped as well. DB Crush Turbo Clean- This product is an extra coarse material with 50% short fi bre and 50% grain. It is well suited for big containers and to mix with other substrate. It does demand a lot of time for irrigation, but is very resistant and permitted to crop in a recirculation system. Coco Grown bags in green and red- DB GR and DB RE Grower Bags are used by Greenhouses for growing vegetables such as tomatoes, fruits; such as strawberries. It is also used for growing fl owers like roses and gerberas.
