1 Bernie Goldstein, founder, Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. was the driving force behind the creation of Myron s Delicatessen. Born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois, Bernie lived there his entire life, but his parents moved to Hollywood, Florida in 1952 so Bernie and delicatessen was a priority, as was looking to see which comedians were performing in the area Myron Cohen was their favorite. It was in Myron Cohen s honor that Bernie developed the concept of sense of humor and the delight of a good pastrami and corned beef sandwich. It is a tribute to Jewish tradition, a belly of laughter and the best sandwich around. Sadly, Bernie passed away in July, 2009, but his memory and spirit will always be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

2 MYRON COHEN Perhaps the greatest Jewish storyteller in history, he talked slowly, but always had audiences on the edge of their seats. He was a favorite in the Catskills Borscht Belt and on the TV talk show circuit during the 1960s and 1970s, where he told the many anecdotes he had collected over a lifetime. Some of Myron s expressions, including Such a Pleasure, along with titles of his books and albums can be found in the delicatessen and on the uniforms of our team members.
