While celebrating ten years of serving the youth in Buckley, the Families First Coalition surprised the Board of Directors and the Staff with the 2018 Community Champion Award. The Community Champion award is presented to individuals and organizations that make a significant impact in their community. The staff at the center have been working very hard in support of their Youth Advisory Board. This allows youth to be empowered through leadership, skill development, community building, career exploration and a chance to have a voice in youth program planning at the activity center. Social and emotional development themes are being incorporated to enhance the center s programming as well. Thank you to all who contribute to the Buckley Youth Activity Center. In 2017 the BYAC served over 616 youth, 1057 activities, 257 operating days, 10 summer fun days, and 1,264 Volunteer hours. Thank you to our Community for your support, it makes all the difference! Interested in participating in your community? Contact the Center Byac@cityofbuckley.com or (360) Page 1
