Just 2 miles from the A1, yet a million miles from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its laid-back hospitality and the warmest of Northumbrian welcomes Eshott Hall is the perfect spot to gather friends and family for a relaxed Christmas and some seasonal indulgence. Set in 35 acres of rolling lawns and medieval woodlands, this stunning 17th century country house is a veritable jewel in Northumberland s crown. Step inside and you ll find a blend of modern design and elegant period features. Grand, yet cosy. A home from home, yet with added extras, such as some fourposter beds, free-standing in-room baths, heavenly toiletries and sublime seasonal dishes from the 2 AA rosette restaurant. It s a great place to do nothing, but there are always great things to do. Like exploring the fabulous Northumbrian coastline with its acres of unspoilt beaches and dramatic landscapes dominated by historic castles. Perhaps take a crisp walk around the estate using one of our guide maps, looking out for native red squirrels on the way, or cosy up in front of the fire with a cuppa. On Boxing Day enjoy a lazy late breakfast, served between 9am and 11am in the restaurant, before saying farewell to Eshott Hall. Our guests staying for an extra night might like to explore the local area and work up an appetite for some more seasonal indulgence on Boxing Day evening when our chefs will prepare another delicious menu. Menu Starter Wild Mushroom and French Mustard, with Ham Hock Dumplings & Truffle Oil A Festive Escape A seasonal three course a la carte dinner will be served in the restaurant in the evening, followed by warming hot toddies or a mug of steaming cocoa in front of the fire before heading for bed. Start Christmas Day with a leisurely Northumbrian breakfast and a glass of Bucks Fizz to get you in the festive mood. Spend the morning with your loved ones, relaxing and opening presents before the main event: a fabulous champagne reception and five course Christmas Day lunch with all the trimmings (12.15 pm arrival for a 1pm sit down). At 3pm the Queen s Speech will be shown in the Library accompanied by coffee and homemade Christmas cake. Save some room for our festive buffet served in the restaurant in the evening before retiring to the bar or bed! A late, leisurely breakfast will be served on 27th December to set you up for your journey home.
