4 Backgro und Early 2000s to present Residents advocate for survey of Eichler homes and recognition of historic nature of the neighborhoods 2005 Historic resources survey identifies three tracts as potential historic districts 2010 General Plan Update includes goal to designate Eichler homes as local historic districts February 2016 Community Meeting at Grijalva Park on potential historic district designation Summer 2016 City Council received petition with more than 80 percent of Eichler residents expressing support for historic district designation Fall 2017 City Council directed staff to move forward with process for designation and engage consultant to write design standards January 2018 Invited nine residents from three neighborhoods to participate in Advisory Committee O range Eichler Design Standards

5 Lo cal Histo ric District Designatio n Overlay Zone added to existing Single-Family Residential (R-1-6) zoning Boundaries match original outline of each Eichler tract Within historic district, individual properties are Contributors or Non- Contributors Contributors are in original condition or have minor, compatible changes Non-contributors have major alterations or additions to their original appearance City Council will decide on adoption of Historic District Overlay Zone and Design Standards at the same time After designation, Contributors will be eligible to apply for Mills Act Contract (property tax reduction) O range Eichler Design Standards
