1 Cincinnatus Club INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE GRAND BALL DATE: Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6:30 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. LOCATION: Mardi Gras World Grand Ballroom, 1400 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, Louisiana (see attached map). AGENDA FOR THE EVENING: 6:30 P.M. - Doors Open Members and guests arrive for cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres. * Riding Members report to the Krewe Quarters to change into costume to participate in the Tableau. 7:30 P.M. - USMC Band performs the Star Spangled Banner followed by the Presentation of the Court. The doors will be locked during the Presentation of the Court and the Tableau. 8:30 P.M. - Louisiana Spice Band The band will begin playing and the buffet will open following the presentation. 11:00 P.M. - The Ball ends. ENTERTAINMENT: The USMC Band will perform, then Louisiana Spice. COURT: The Legion of Mars will present a traditional Mardi Gras Court during the Ball, including our monarch who will be Primus III and a Queen. 2 DRESS CODE: Costume de rigeur GENTLEMEN: Have the option of civilian white tie and black tails or military mess dresswhite tie, or service dress with black bow tie. No Tuxedos... In all cases, white gloves should be worn. LADIES: Have the option of civilian tasteful floor length evening gowns or military evening mess dress, or service dress with black bow tie. In all cases, white gloves should be worn. COSTUMES FOR MASKERS: Members of the Legion of Mars that are riding in the Krewe of Alla Parade on January 31, 2016 are strongly encouraged to wear their parade costumes to the ball and to participate in the tableau as maskers. For costume use during the Ball, contact Dann Cahoon at or Security and valets will be provided in Krewe Quarters to assist with changing and to secure valuables. Please do not forget to tip your valet. A $20.00 tip is customary. Please indicate on the bottom of the Ball Invitation List your costume size. FAVORS: It is customary for male Members of a Krewe to purchase a Krewe Favor for the female guests invited to the Ball. This year your club has selected a beautiful Krewe Favor that recognizes the five uniformed services. It is a golden broach featuring five stars and a modified Krewe logo in the middle. These have been cast by local artist, India Stewart, and will be a very nice gift for your guests. Payment must accompany your order. PURCHASE OF 2016 KREWE FAVORS: The cost of the 2016 basic Krewe Favor is $30.00 and the red enameled one is $ Krewe Favors purchased in advance by Members will be given out in the Krewe Quarters at the Security Table on the night of the Ball. Krewe favors usually sell out on a first come first serve basis, so please order them now. Any remaining Krewe favors will be available for sale at the Security Table in Krewe Quarters during the Ball. REGISTRATION FOR THE BALL: Members in good standing (dues paid in full) may attend the Ball at no cost. Each Member in good standing is also allowed to invite one guest at no charge. Members may also invite additional guests at a cost of $100 dollars per couple. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE BALL TO RECEIVE BALL INVITATIONS AND ADMIT CARDS. NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED WITHOUT AN ADMIT CARD. 2

3 There are 2 methods to register for the Ball: ELECTRONIC: Members can go to and select the login tab. To make sure your information self-populates on the form, log in using your and password. If you have any issues, contact Mark Turner at ltcturner@outlook.com or and he can reset your password for you. When logged in, select the event tab or the event link on the right of the homepage for the ball. Select register at the top of the event, enter your if it is not listed, select member registration for paid members. Fill in any blank data, select add guest at the bottom to add your ONE free guest, select done, then when you return to your membership record, select next to confirm the registration. To register and pay for additional guests, LOG OUT first, then select the guest registration under ball event. The process for registration is the same as members, but the website will allow you to pay online using your credit card at the end of the registration process. You can use your , just type over your data on the first registration. MAIL: Complete the enclosed Invitation List. Members should list themselves on line 1, their one free guest on-line 2, and any additional guests on the following lines. The Legion of Mars is not able to accept payments from non-members. It is the individual Member s responsibility to make payments for their guests. Please make your check payable to the Cincinnatus Club and forward your check along with your completed Invitation List and the completed Payment Summary form to the attention of The Ball Committee at P.O. Box 24250, New Orleans, Louisiana Invitations to the Ball cannot be mailed to your guests until verification of payment. When filling out your form or registering online, please indicate those that you would like to be seated with. The ballroom will be set with tables of 10. Due to time constraints, your documents should be completed and returned no later than Monday, December 28,2015 or reserved seating will not be guaranteed. INVITATIONS: Your invitation and admit cards will be mailed to you and your guests after December 28, Members and guests are required to present their invitation upon arrival at the Ball. 4

4 PARKING: The Krewe has made arrangements for parking in LOT J adjacent to Mardi Gras World at a reduced rate of $10.00 per vehicle. A shuttle will be provided to transport guest between Lot J and the Mardi Gras World Grand Ballroom.
