3 Cocktails from the Start Negroni Started in a little café in Florence Casoni around 11, Count Camilo Negroni concocted the cocktail by asking the bartender to strengthen a traditional Americano by adding gin rather than the normal soda water. This drink is an apertif and the perfect way to start you night. Ironroot Drought Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Campari Sidecar Dating back to 122, this oldie but goodie is directly named after the passenger motorcycle attachment. While the exact origin is unclear, its roots start around the end of WWI in either London or Paris. Hennessy VSOP, Triple Sec, Lemon Juice, Orange Peel Old Fashioned 11 First developed in the 1880 s, the Old Fashioned became such a standard drink that the glass it was served in became known as an old-fashioned glass. This cocktail has remained true to its roots even through prohibition and is a must-drink for every cocktail aficionado. Old Forester Bourbon, Bitters, Sugar Cube, Orange Slice, Port Cherry Sazerac 11 Receiving its name from the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac, this cocktail is arguably the oldest cocktail around. It was born in New Orleans and showcases a blend of flavors as unique as its birth place. Sazerac Rye, Lucid Absinthe, Sugar Cube, Bitters, Lemon Twist Gibson While the origin of this drink is unclear, one story of its birth centers around an investment banker name Gibson. Gibson took his clients out for three-martini business lunches, but secretly asked the bartender to serve him only chilled water so that he could remain sober while his client became inebriated. The cocktail-onion garnish served as a sign to distinguish his beverage from the real martini intended for his clients.
