FERMENTATION: Brewed in a Lager style. Cold fermentation. Bottom fermenting yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Specially selected noble hops give it an intense hoppy aroma with the characteristic bitterness. INTERESTING FACT: Pilsner originated in the Czech Republic. Bitter units must be above 28 IBU. LAGER A generous hoppy and malty Craft Lager. Available in 440ml and 340ml. ALCOHOL: 5.1 Vol% L A G E R BITTER UNITS: 24 IBU COLOUR: Light Blonde. MALT: Carefully selected speciality malt imported from Germany. HOPS: Aroma hops. YEAST: Specially cultured Lager yeast. FERMENTATION: Cold fermentation. Bottom fermenting yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: A fresh crisp hoppy and malt balanced taste delivers an easy drinking Lager. INTERESTING FACT: Lager is the most consumed beer in the world. Lager is the German word for storing. Cold storage or lagering in caves was a widespread practice throughout the medieval period.
2 KRYSTAL WEISS A clear filtered Weissbier, with an elegant twist of lemon and grapefruit. Available in 440ml and 340ml. ALCOHOL: 5.0 Vol% K R Y S T A L W E I S S BITTER UNITS: 16 IBU COLOUR: A brilliant golden, clear filtered beer. MALT: 50% caramel barley malt & 50% wheat malt. HOPS: Aroma hops and a specially selected hop for a more citrusy flavour. YEAST: Specially cultured top fermented yeast. FERMENTATION: Warm fermentation.top fermenting yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Dry twist of lemon and grapefruit flavours from the hops and tropical fruit and banana from the yeast. INTERESTING FACT: When creating this speciality Weissbier, our Brewmaster was inspired by the German tradition of serving Krystal Weiss with a slice of lemon. AMBER WEISS A fruity and satisfying aromatic German style unfiltered Weissbier or Hefeweizen. ALCOHOL: 5.4 Vol% A M B E R W E I S S MALT: 50% caramel barley malt & 50% wheat malt. HOPS: Selected noble hops from Bavaria/Germany. YEAST: Specially cultured top fermented yeast. BITTER UNITS: 11 IBU COLOUR: Amber. This beer is traditionally not filtered and retains a cloudiness from the yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Fruity and aromatic with banana and a slight hint of clove. Slightly hopped giving only a light bitterness in the finish. INTERESTING FACT: In Germany, especially in Bavaria, Weissbier is considered a typical breakfast beer.
3 MANDARINA BAVARIA IPA This fruity IPA offers strong naartjie, nectarine and lemon notes. ALCOHOL: 6.5 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 65 IBU COLOUR: Deep Golden Orange. MALT: Selected German barley and caramel malts. HOPS: Exclusive use of Mandarina Bavaria hops. CHARACTERISTICS: Strong naartjie, nectarine and lemon notes are accentuated by the lively orange colour. The bitterness is balanced by a strong malt backbone. INTERESTING FACT: A first ever in Africa, this all-german ingredients IPA is made with Mandarina Bavaria hops cultivated in Bavaria/Germany. HARVEST LAGER (SEASONAL) A beautiful saturated golden colour lager with a rich malt aroma and slight hint of spiciness. ALCOHOL: 6.1 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 22 IBU COLOUR: Golden Amber. MALT: Vienna malt as backbone multi-layered with speciality malts imported from Bavaria/Germany. HOPS: Hallertauer Perle. YEAST: Specially cultured lager yeast. FERMENTATION: Cold fermentation. Bottom fermenting yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: A full bodied malty, caramel flavoured beer with a unique silkiness from different speciality malts. INTERESTING FACT: The Harvest Lager is a Maerzen style beer which has been brewed since 1840 s in Bavaria/Germany.
4 PALE ALE A crafty Pale Ale with a light amber colour. Available in 330ml Aluminium Cans and 440ml Bottles. ALCOHOL: 4.8 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 35 IBU COLOUR: Light Amber. MALT: Unique speciality imported malt. HOPS: Carefully selected hops from 3 different continents. YEAST: American Pale Ale yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Strong fruity and lemon notes with a touch of granadilla. Slight malty nose with aromatic hop flavours. INTERESTING FACT: CBC s first craft beer in an aluminium can. Beyond its ability to preserve our beer s quality, we discovered that the cans are lighter, easier to carry and allows the beer to chill faster, which is pretty cool (no pun intended), and they are sustainable, being made from 90%+ recycled material. IMPERIAL IPA Galena and Mosaic hops create the intense hop aroma of Granadilla and Passion Fruit. Available in 330ml. ALCOHOL: 7.5 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 80 IBU COLOUR: Medium Gold. MALT: Selected German barley malts and caramel malts. HOPS: Galena and Mosaic hops. CHARACTERISTICS: Fruity characters like gooseberry, passion fruit and granadilla paired with grassy resinous flavours from the dry hopping. A solid malt backbone supports the strong and complex hop bitterness. INTERESTING FACT: The first Platinum Winner for South Africa (2016) at the Meininger Craft Beer competition held in Germany.
5 RED WEISS (SEASONAL) A seasonal Hefeweissbier unfiltered with an amber red tone. ALCOHOL: 6.0 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 18 IBU COLOUR: Amber Red and slightly cloudy as unfiltered. MALT: Selected malts and the special Red Cara Malt. HOPS: Selected noble hops from various regions in Germany. YEAST: Specially cultured Weiss beer yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Fruity banana from the yeast pairs with hints of bitter chocolate and toffee from the speciality malt. INTERESTING FACT: The red colour tone is from the most expensive caramel malt in the world Red Cara Malt. Complex malt notes make it a must for every Weiss lover and a masterpiece of German brewing tradition. OKTOBERFEST BEER (SEASONAL) A complex malt layered beer with a dry finish. ALCOHOL: 6.1 Vol% BITTER UNITS: 28 IBU COLOUR: Golden Amber. MALT: German malts Vienna and Munich. HOPS: German hops. YEAST: Specially cultured lager yeast. FERMENTATION: Cold fermentation. Bottom fermenting yeast. CHARACTERISTICS: Light toasted malt aroma from special German malt and moderate hop bitterness from German hops makes it a masterpiece of Bavarian beer tradition.
