A guide to the Scotch whisky regions Like wines, the single malts of Scotland are grouped by region although these regions offer a guideline rather than a rule. The regions of Scotland are the Lowlands, the Highlands, Campbeltown and the island of Islay all having their own origins in the regulation of licences and duties, but they do also embrace certain characteristics. The Lowlands This area tends to produce softer malts, without the peat of the Highlands or the brininess of the coastal malts. The Lowlands is defined by a line following old county boundaries and running from the Clyde estuary to the River Tay. The line swings north of Glasgow and Dumbarton and runs to Dundee and Perth. The Highlands, Islands and Speyside By far the largest region, the Highlands embraces wide variations in style. The western Highlands have only a few scattered distilleries, and it is difficult to generalise about their character. If they have anything in common, it is a rounded, firm, dry character, with some peatiness. The far north of the Highlands has several whiskies with a notably heathery, spicy, character, probably deriving both from the local soil and the coastal location of the distilleries. The more sheltered East Highlands and the Midlands of Scotland (sometimes described as the South Highlands) have a number of notably fruity whiskies. None of these Highland areas is officially regarded as a region, but the area between them, known as Speyside, is universally acknowledged as the heartland of malt distillation. This area, between the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen, sweeps from Granite Mountains down to fertile countryside, where barley is among the crops. It is the watershed of a system of rivers, the principal among which is the Spey. Although it is not precisely defined, Speyside is commonly agreed to extend from the River Findhorn in the west to the Deveron in the east. Within this region are several other rivers, notably the Livet. The Speyside single malts are noted in general for their elegance and complexity, and often a refined smokiness. Beyond that, they have two extremes: the big, sherryish type, as typified by The The Macallan, Glenfarclas and Aberlour; and the lighter, more subtle style. Within Speyside, the River Livet is so famous that its name is borrowed by some whiskies from far beyond its glen. 4

Only one may call itself The Glenlivet, only Braes of Glenlivet and Tamnavulin are produced in the valley, and only Tomintoul in the parish. These are all delicate malts, and it could be more tentatively argued that other valleys have malts that share certain characteristics. The Highland region includes a good few coastal and island malts, but one peninsula and just one island have been of such historical importance in the industry that they are each regarded as being regions in their own right. Campbeltown On the peninsula called the Mull of Kintyre, on the west coast of Scotland, Campbeltown once had about 30 distilleries. Today, it has only two. One of these, Springbank, produces two different single malts. This is achieved by the use of a lightly peated malt in one and a smokier kilning in the other. The Campbeltown single malts are very distinctive, with a briny character. Although there are only three of them, they are still considered by serious malt lovers to represent a region in their own right. Islay Pronounced "eye-luh", this is the greatest of whisky islands: much of it deep with peat, lashed by the wind, rain and sea in the Inner Hebrides. It is only 25 miles long, but has no fewer than eight distilleries, although not all are working. Its single malts are noted for their seaweedy, iodine like, phenolic character. A dash of Islay malt gives the unmistakable tang of Scotland to many blended whiskies. Tasting notes We have included a brief tasting note for each of the many single malt whiskies on our list which we hope will prove useful to both the novice and seasoned drinkers. By their nature, tasting notes are always subjective and so you may not agree with what we say! We are indebted to the many different sources who have provided these notes, not least which provides a wealth of information for the whisky enthusiast. Slainte mhoiz and slaandjivaa 5

BIN ABV Per 50ml 666 Aberfeldy 12yrs 40% Southern Highlands, distillery bottling On the nose we find orange zest, incense and a touch of sherry. The palate is oily, with clean fruitiness and very lively, fresh flavours. The finish is like biting into a kumquat; then a long, fruity glow. 633 Aberlour 10yrs 40% Nutty, with nutmeg and a hint of cinnamon. Although peated it is very brandy like and warming. Not overly challenging but quite satisfying, particularly with dessert. 845 Aberlour 16yrs 43% Aberlour 16 year old has been double matured in traditional oak and sherry casks. Intense, honeyed flavoured, complex, with fabulous spicy wood notes lingering & mouth-watering finish. 846 Aberlour 18yrs 43% Notes of chocolate & orange zest, with soft flavours of cream, peach and apricots, & a warm soft finish. 847 Aberlour a bunadh 60.8% A wide spectrum of saturated shades of sherry and a very fruity nose. Big sweet and woody cask strength malt with lots of oak in the finish. Softer and sweeter when diluted. 6

BIN ABV Per 50ml 635 Ardbeg 10yrs 46% The nose is amazingly smoky with a whiff of tar covered rope. The palate is robust with more peat smoke and the flavours of turf and Lapsang Souchong. A long finish with a fragrant peaty reek. Whilst flavour packed, this is still a delicate Scotch. 651 Ardbeg Uigedail 54.2% Pronounced 'Oog-a-dal.' A fine drop of Ardbeg bottled at cask strength. A marriage of Ardbeg from bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and smoky finish to this malt. Uigeadail is the loch from which all Ardbeg water flows. This 'huge' dram is, in the best traditions of Ardbeg, intense. 642 Ardbeg Corryvreckan 57.1% As a replacement for the much-loved 1990 Airigh nam Beist, Ardbeg Corryvreckan had some pretty big shoes to fill, but the good news is that this is a belter, winning World's Best Single Malt Whisky at the World Whisky Awards 2010 and Best No Age Statement Scotch from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. 622 Ardbeg 1990 Airigh Nam Beist 46% Airigh Nam Beist 1990 is a delicious vintage bottling from the ongoing success story that is Ardbeg. Sadly now discontinued due to exhausted stocks, 'the Beist' was an extremely popular Ardbeg, with assertive and powerful peatiness and a lovely honeyed edge. Oh, and it's pronounced 'Arry nam Baysht'. 836 Ardbeg Single Cask 49.9% for Verdier in Italy 1 of 246 bottles Bottled from a single refill for Italy in 2003, over half the cask was returned to the distillery due to legal issues after the sale of Glenmorangie in At the distillery almost all the remaining bottles were used in tastings and research. This remains, as a result one of the rarest of all Ardbeg bottling. The whisky itself is quite simply stunning the nose is rich with layers of dense oily phenols, tropical and green fruits, with an unusual distinctive medical streak running through it. An amazing Ardbeg and a stunning drink that totally challenges and beguiles the senses. 660 Ardbeg Lord of the Isles 46% A deep smoky yet balanced aroma with powerful peat and a sweet mouth feel. The palate is silky with fruitiness, usually reminiscent of lemons, with a momentary suggestion of cherries. The flavours become almond and walnut-like, then rooty and peppery. A long dry finish with chocolate malt and crushed peat. 7

BIN ABV Per 50ml 738 Auchentoshan 12yrs 40% Lowlands, distillery bottling The 12 year old is smooth, fresh and nutty with a golden honey appearance. It has a Crème Brulee smell with a burst of citrus and the signature nuttiness and green leafiness of Auchentoshan. To taste the palate is smooth and sweet with hints of tangerine and lime. To finish, it is a gingery and slightly drying with a pleasant lingering nuttiness 745 Auchentoshan Three Wood 40% Lowlands, distillery bottling Sweet, butterscotch with prunes and custard. Jaffa cake and apricots with Christmas cake and roasted almonds. The Three Wood expression is matured in three different casks American bourbon wood, Spanish oloroso sherry then finished in Pedro Ximenez casks. 652 Auchroisk 10yrs 43% Light soft and creamy. The nose is reminiscent of American cream soda, custard and cooked apple, bread and butter pudding with nutty malt underneath. Very soft and sweet on the palate. Straight down the middle. A delicious soft finish. 647 Balvenie 12yrs Single Barrel 47.8% Speyside, Distillery Bottling Released in 2013, Balvenie's Single Barrel First Fill was matured in first-fill bourbon casks for at least 12 years before bottling. These are limited edition bottlings, with each bottle being one of no more than 300 drawn from a single cask. Each is also hand-numbered and labelled with the cask reference number. A deliciously creamy, vanilla-rich whisky from Balvenie. 645 Balvenie 12yrs Double Wood 43% Aged in refill American oak casks before being finished in first fill European oak Sherry casks, Double Wood is an excellent example of what the Balvenie distillery can craft, even at 12 years.oak Sherry casks, DoubleWood is an excellent example of what the Balvenie distillery can craft, even at 12 years. 889 Balvenie 14yrs Caribbean Cask 43% This whisky has been matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks before being transferred to Caribbean rum casks to impart some extra flavour. This process has created a well-rounded and drinkable whisky with notes of fruit and vanilla. 664 Balvenie 15yrs Single Barrel 40% Rich and complex, suggestive of years of careful ageing, it has a honeyed maltiness with vanilla, oak flavours and delicate spice notes. Long and complex with a touch of liquorice. 8

BIN ABV Per 50ml 861 Balvenie Tun % Tun 1509 is four times the size and the first release is a combination of 35 American oak barrels and 7 European oak sherry butts, left to marry for a few months. This is a rare interpretation of the marrying process and allows all 42 casks to come together to create a unique expression of The Balvenie that s greater than the sum of its constituent parts. 675 Balvenie 21yrs Port Wood 40% An additional period of maturation in 30 year-old port pipes has given this aged Balvenie an extra level of depth and concentration of flavour, adding potent fruit and smoke notes to the silky-smooth full-bodied palate. Rich, indulgent, after-dinner Speyside at its best. 862 Balvenie 25yrs Traditional Oak Single Barrel 47.8% A 2014 addition to The Balvenie range Single Barrel, Traditional Oak. Each bottle is part of a batch of only a few hundred, each filled from a single cask. A special whisky for special occasions or just to reward yourself for being great. 685 Balvenie 40yrs 48.5% At 40 years of age, this is Balvenie's oldest regularly released bottling. A bittersweet taste with sherry dryness and oaky smoke and a long, dry finish. Quite similar to the The Macallan style. 650 Blair Athol 12yrs 43% Southern Highlands, distillery bottling The distillery has always insisted on using Orkney peat, preferred for its young character. A dry, sharp nose, becoming sweeter and creamier with some light caramel and heathery overtones. 9

BIN ABV Per 50ml 653 Bowmore Darkest 15yrs 43% The sherry aroma is fantastic, together with almonds and mature oak. The peaty notes become an excellent foil to the fruity flavours and do not allow the sherry to totally dominate. Hints of the sea drift in given a little time in the glass. Soft over ripe dark grapes flood the palate like an incoming tide. It s rich, but not over the top, due to the wonderful heather fire smoky flavour you will find on the back palate 631 Bowmore 18yrs 43% From the oldest distillery on Islay, the nose of the 18 year old has autumn leaves on a damp woodland floor with heather, wood smoke, and waxy apple peelings, with a citrus fruitiness. On the palate there is a lot more evidence of the large number sherry casks used at Bowmore. Intensely floral with more citrus and chocolate. A complex whisky that changes and develops in the glass, very much a whisky that rewards time and patience. 657 Bowmore 25yrs 43% Full and round, with a gentle softness, the nose has a strong herb like fragrance overlying the sherry and peat notes. The palate has plenty of sherry, but surely as night follows day, you will find the oak, the smoke, the brine, ending with toffee and hazelnut. The finish is mellow, gentle and warming. 818 Brora 25yrs, Dun Bheagan Collection 48.5% A cask strength and sherried bottling from the magnificent but closed Highland distillery. Rich, with a good balance between wood and spirit, and a thread of smoke. 724 Brora 30yrs 55.7% A rare and superb bottling from this closed distillery. Cool wood smoke on a frosty morning, hints of stem ginger in syrup and lapsang souchong. A truly beautiful whisky and incredibly hard to find. 662 Bruichladdich 10yrs 46.3% The very first 10 year old whisky to be wholly distilled, aged and bottled following Bruichladdich's resurrection in In many ways this marks the beginning of the new era, and this will be snapped up by connoisseurs and collectors. A true milestone bottling. 736 Bruichladdich 16yrs 46% Something interesting for Bruichladddich fans and malt purists alike: A 100% bourbon-matured 16yo, untroubled by fancy finishing of any kind. Hats off to the team at Bruichladdich. 10

BIN ABV Per 50ml 798 Bruichladdich 1970 Vintage 44.2% From original distillery stock prior to the new owner s acquisition this fantastic vintage has a luxurious nose of butterscotch, mint toffee, sweet oak, honeysuckle and orange blossom with touches of marzipan. It is soft, silky and smooth on the palate, loaded with fruits, coconut, hazelnut and creamy oak. Simply divine! 795 Bruichladdich Black Arts yrs 49.2% Islay distillery bottling Working with the very finest American and French oak to explore that most esoteric relationship between spirit and wood, Black Art is Master Distiller Jim McEwan's personal voyage into the heart of Bruichladdich. The marriage of the spirit from truly magical casks has created a sensational texture, both sleek and suggestive. Lose yourself in the sweet, fruity, mellow oakiness of this bewitching spirit. 835 Bunnahabhain 12yrs 46.3% Islay distillery bottling The nose offers a fresh and aromatic experience with a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air. 46.3% Bunnahabhain 18yrs Islay distillery bottling This is the relaunched version of Bunnahabhain 18yo, with owners Burn Stewart having ditched the caramel colouring and chill-filtration and upped the strength to 46.3%. A triumph for 'naturalist' whisky drinkers and a PR triumph for Burn Stewart bravo! 663 Bunnahabhain Moine 59.6% Islay distillery bottling This is gorgeous stuff, heavilly peated Bunnahabhain. It came out about the same time as Ardbeg introduced the very young and didn't get the same attention due to its limited outrun 310 bottles only. It s a beautiful, sinewy dram with immense power, like chewing a well smoked carpet. I tried it and bought three bottles. 792 Caol Ila 12yrs 43% Good body, oily, tar, elegant smoke. Hints of boiled sweets. 796 Caol Ila 18yrs 43% A wonderfully balanced expression from the core Caol Ila range, this 18 year old is malty and thick with notes of Caol Ila smoke and phenols, lovely Islay single malt without extreme levels of peat. 11

The balance is sublime and the mouthfeel is perfectly rounded. A great 14 year old Highland malt, quite coastal too. 669 Cragganmore 12yrs 40% Intensely, nearly overwhelmingly, perfumed, especially with a splash of water. Very herbal and aromatic, the palate is dry and reminiscent of a very dry white wine. Exquisitely balanced, it is great as an aperitif, but complex enough to be enjoyed long after dinner. 672 Dailuaine 16yrs 43% A delicious bottling from a rather obscure distillery. Big, rich, sweet and smoky, with a very smooth mouthfeel and plenty of fruits and spices. 807 Dalmore 12yrs 40% Full of Highland flavour and of outstanding quality, this has long been popular with our customers. There are some big orange and apricot flavours, peanut toffee crunch and a healthy level of oak, a big all-rounder. 603 Dalmore 15yrs 40% Dalmore 15 year old single malt whisky was launched in 2007, and is one of the most popular expressions in the core Dalmore range. It spends twelve years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a three year finish in three different sherry woods - Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso. 12

BIN ABV Per 50ml 812 Dalmore 18yrs 43% Rich, fruity and spicy as you could ever want from a Dalmore. Palate: Yet more toffee, caramel edging towards the burnt cindertoffee side of things. Flamed orange-zest, and perfectly integrated sherry. Finish: Reasonably simple, Christingles (orange Zest and clove with a touch of cinnamon), more mid-palate than palate-coating 604 Dalmore King Alexander 40% To make this Dalmore King Alexander III, Master Distiller Richard Paterson has selected a range of differently aged malts matured in a mixture of French wine casks, Madeira drums, sherry butts, Marsala barrels, Port pipes and bourbon barrels from Kentucky. A remarkable feat of blending. 679 Dalwhinnie 15yrs 43% Strikingly clean flavours with salt and malt in the nose. A clear Highland malt character with subtle peatiness. Aromatic and delicately spicy with grass and grain type vegetative associations. Refreshing as an aperitif. 789 Dalwhinnie 1995 / Distillers Edition 43% The 1995 vintage of Dalwhinnie's ever reliable Distillers Edition. Finished in oloroso sherry casks for an added layer of rich fruit. 655 Deanston 12yrs 46.3% Highland, distillery bottling Deanston uses only unpeated malts from Angus, East, Lothian and Moray, to produce a light, nutty, malty and restorative style of whisky. 682 Edradour 10yrs 40% Southern Highlands, distillery bottling Sherried, butterscotch and vanilla nose. Honeyed and creamy with dried fruits and minty spice on the palate. 13

The 30 year old was a hit at their masterclass at The Whisky Show that year and is rich with a spicy woodiness. This is the only bottling in the range to use a maize base, which was last used at Girvan in Glendeveron 10yrs 40% A new bottling of Glen Deveron 1998 from the Macduff distillery, located at the eastern edge of Speyside near Banff. 740 Glen Elgin 12yrs 43% The intensity of the malt is breath taking; stunning fresh malt arrival, salivating barley that is both crisp and lush: then a big round of spice amid some squashed, over-ripe plums. Faultless mouth feel. 688 Glen Grant 10yrs 40% A malty and sweet nose which notably improves after a little breathing. Sherry sweetness on the palate this is a pleasant but undemanding whisky. 690 Glen Moray 12yrs 40% 8.35 At full strength, the aroma is fragrant and lightly drying with warming malty notes. The first impression is of butterscotch and shortbread with fresh herbal/grassy notes. Lemon curd and meringue are discovered in the background. With water, malt and spices combine to reveal oatmeal with a hint of freshly ground black pepper. Lemongrass, tea tree oil and heather aromatics give the whisky a fragrance throughout. 691 Glen Moray 16yrs 40% A rich and mature nose with a robust character, it is reminiscent of dried fruit, perhaps figs and raisins, mixed with chocolate and spices (cloves and boiling sweets). 692 Glen Ord 12yrs 40% Sweet and dry malt with sherry notes. Medium to full body, malty and very clean. Begins simply with the malt, then comes a dash of barley sugar 14

BIN ABV Per 50ml 820 Glen Scotia 12yrs 46% Campbeltown, distillery bottling Glen Scotia's 2013 reboot sees the familiar old 12 year old replaced by a radically different tall bottle decorated with one of Scotland's iconic highland cows. Fans of the old 12 year old will be delighted to discover that the relaunched edition now packs more of a punch, with the strength having been upped to a feisty 46%. 695 Glencadam 10yrs 40% 9.00 Highland, distillery bottling This was first released in 2008 under the new ownership of Angus Dundee. Glencadam 10 stands as a delicate, balanced dram, neither coloured nor chill-filtered so it retains its true flavour. Nose: Aromatic and fresh. Hay, fruit, gentle wood influence with light vanilla and spice. Palate: Beautifully balanced with tart fruits, freshly cut hay and vanilla sweetness. Finish: Long and gentle as it fades out on barley malt and fruit. 698 Glendullan 12yrs 43% Nose: A dry nose with crisp malt, attractive notes of flowers, fruit (lemon/quince/dried fruit) oil and a hint of smoke. Palate: Dry and clean to start, then opens nicely with mid-palate sweetness balancing a firm structure. Finish: Soft and gentle. Very attractive, highly drinkable malt. 748 Glen Spey 12yrs 43% The whisky is very attractive from the very first nosing with an impression of lightness, together with some spice hints. The taste confirms the first impression a finish of average length prolongs the pleasure for some minutes. The second tasting confirmed the rather pleasant character of this whisky, and the finish seemed longer than the first time. A rather strong and long aftertaste on malt notes remains for a while in the palate, and the pleasant spicy taste disappears slowly. 15

In 2006 Glenfarclas was named distiller of the year by Whisky Magazine. They were nominated for the award for being consistently good and staying true to our core values. For six generations everyone at Glenfarclas has taken personal pride on the quality of the whisky we produce, so it was a great pleasure that these values should be recognised by the industry. It was this pride and sense of history which lead us to create a collection of limited edition. Glenfarclas expressions The Family Casks John L S Grant (Glenfarclas 2006). A strong double espresso immediately comes to mind. It has a bitter, dark chocolate aftertaste, present for a very long time. In short, a fantastic whisky. A great treat. 826 Glenfarclas Family Cask % A lovely rich, dark whisky colour more often associated with a dark cognac. A big heavy sherried whisky; great if you like them big and powerful. Always impeccably well made, this is a whisky that always delivers in quality. 860 Glenfarclas % A full 60% abv, yet the sweet, rich, spicy distillery character is still very much in evidence. A very small drop of water is recommended to open the flavours. 800 Glenfarclas 21yrs 43% Dark amber-gold with an intense, full aroma of sherried & tropical fruits, nutmeg and almonds with slight citrus notes at the end, all held together with a vanilla sweet smokiness. 702 Glenfarclas 25yrs 43% Dark amber in colour this is a pungent, aged, spirit with overtones of oak and a hint of sherry on the nose. The flavour is big and dry but the finish is long and smooth. 18

In the summer of 1886 Glenfiddich s founder, William Grant, set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition of creating the 'best dram in the valley'. With the help of his seven sons and two daughters, William built his distillery in a single year. Their hard work was rewarded on Christmas Day 1887 when the first drop of spirit flowed from the small copper pot stills. William named his distillery Glenfiddich, Gaelic for 'Valley of the Deer'. Over 120 years later, Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and the whisky has become the world's most awarded single malt, a true reflection of the passion, integrity and innovative spirit that have been passed down through the generations. BIN ABV Per 50ml 755 Glenfiddich 12yrs 40% The first whisky to truly market itself as a single malt, Glenfiddich now accounts for about 30% of all single malt sales. Worldwide. 665 Glenfiddich 14yrs Rich Oak 40% A recent release edition from Glenfiddich, this was aged for 14 years before a finish in new American and Spanish oak casks. They say the American oak adds spice, vanilla and fruit, and the Spanish oak brings elegant fruit, spice and complexity. 704 Glenfiddich 15yrs Solera 40% Three different types of casks is married together in a wooden vat, which is constantly topped up in solera style. 656 Glenfiddich 15yrs Distillers Edition 51% A special edition Glenfiddich. This 15 year old is non chill filtered and has been bottled at higher strength. This is classic Glenfiddich, but with added complexity and character. 851 Glenfiddich 18yrs 40% An elegant nose, faintly sweet, scented with apple and wood. Glenfiddich 18yrs is a robust and full bodied yet soft and smooth dram. 683 Glenfiddich Age of Discovery 19yrs - Madeira Cask Finish 40% A rich, complex and delicious 19 year old single malt matured in oak casks previously used to age fine Madeira wine, a first for us. These Madeira casks add deep earthy aromas of sweet figs and rich grapes to our whisky, and unique spicy notes of cinnamon and black peppercorns. Gold: International Spirits Challenge

822 Glenfiddich 21yrs Carribean Rum Finish 40% Glenfiddich 21yrs is still finished in rum casks, although the rum is simply referred to as 'Caribbean'. 649 Glenfiddich Excellence 26yrs 43% Excellence is a 26 year old expression from Glenfiddich, aged exclusively in exbourbon casks sourced from the Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky, which, like Glenfiddich, is independently owned by a Scottish family. Their first ongoing bourbon cask release, this is a fruit bomb of a whisky, with well-controlled spice from the long, American oak maturation. 852 Glenfiddich 30yrs 43% Only casks that pass his exacting standards are handpicked and then married together to achieve their final sublime harmony. The rarity of this single malt is unquestionable there are only ever a handful of vattings of 30 Year Old a year. 658 Glenfiddich 40yrs Bot % Our 40 Year Old is not only precious but also pioneering. Our Malt Master carefully hand selects individual casks before marrying them together with what was left over from the previous 40 Year Old vatting. This continuous process is known as remnant vatting and contains whiskies that are at the very least, 40 years old. Glenfiddich is the only single malt Scotch whisky in the industry to use remnant vatting. 20

Glenlivet is a special place in Speyside. Translated from Gaelic, the name means Valley of the smooth-flowing one. Those who christened it were most likely referring to the River Livet, which surfaces high in the Ladder Hills and meanders down to join the Avon. But something altogether more sought-after has been flowing here for centuries: whisky. BIN ABV Per 50 ml 711 The Glenlivet 12yrs 40% Fresh vanilla and caramel aromas mingle with the scent of cooked fruit. Delicate in texture, a hint of spice, smoke and butterscotch is followed by a subtly spicy finish. 712 The Glenlivet 15yrs French Oak 40% Rich vanilla and floral nose with, again, cooked fruit showing through in the palate. Custard, fudge and citrus zest with an oaky spice finish. 806 The Glenlivet Nàdurra 16yrs 56% Nadurra is the Gaelic word for natural and revisiting 19 th century practises and unlike most modern whiskies, this single malt is not chill-filtered, giving more body and richer texture. Lemon pulp, green apples and praline on the nose give way to a luscious palate of poached peaches in vanilla syrup, white chocolate, aniseed lollipop and candied ginger. 823 The Glenlivet 18yrs 40% Elements beautifully combined. Depth of flowery aromas. Very light touch of fresh peatiness. Some sweetness and a hint of sherry oak. Palate: Flowery and sweet at first, then developing peach-stone nuttiness 808 The Glenlivet 21yrs 40% An opulent, mature nose with a sherry influence. An intricate array of wood and fruit: Christmas cake, sultanas, maraschino cherry. Water enlightens the fruity bouquet and brings out vanilla and lighter notes of ripe peaches. Pear and marzipan pie. Luscious barley sugar aromas. This full-bodied whisky is unctuous and mouth coating, almost syrupy. Oak holds the reins back, releasing a drying spiciness of cinnamon, ginger, walnut and dark chocolate. Seriously smooth whisky! 21

BIN ABV Per 50 ml 814 The Glenlivet 25yrs 43% The Glenlivet XXV is the perfect tribute to the skill and judgement of the craftsmen involved in making this special whisky. The original new spirit character, fruity and floral, has been faithfully retained during years of careful maturation. The final finish in rare ex-sherry butts yields a sublime, intense whisky of powerful yet elegant character. The sherry shows itself with luscious fruity and spicy note with creamier notes rising. Orange crème brûlée; candied fruit; pineapple. Silky and caressing the palate is sweet at first then releasing a full bunch of spices; ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Developing dark chocolate and orange peel. 837 The Glenlivet 30yrs - Queen of the Moorlands 54% Speyside, distillery bottling 1 of 60 bottles Queen of the Moorlands are cask series in Leek, Staffordshire there is an unusual wine and whisky merchant, David Wood, who with a little help from his friends, bottle his own whisky. This special bottling was done for a friend s 40th birthday. Only 60 bottles from a fresh sherry butt of Glenlivet were secured. This is a once in a lifetime malt, dark and enticing in the bottle it slugs seductively in the glass thick unctuous it is rich with stewed fruits, marmalade, Seville oranges, Christmas spices and waltz oil flavours. A hedonistically dense whisky one of the finest Glenlivet you will ever drink. 648 The Glenlivet 1973 Cellar Collection 49% The 1973 Cellar Collection is a rare style of whisky thanks to its age and cask profile: a single ex-sherry butt and two refilled American oak hogsheads have been hand-selected as the absolute zenith of the stock available from that vintage and the result is a rich, sherried expression. Bursting with big juicy sweet orange flavours combined with rich sherry sweetness and freshly baked moist ginger bread notes. The fruity flavours are very reminiscent of fruit drop boiled sweets. Perfectly balanced, mouthwatering, fills the mouth with sweet fruity flavours echoing the nose. Allied with these fruity orange and peach flavours is a wonderful liquorice and aniseed experience followed by a cinnamon ginger tang. 819 The Glenlivet 1964 Cellar Collection 45.1% Hand selected from The Glenlivet cellar by Master Distiller Jim Cryle. After maturing in the finest sherry and traditional oak casks, the 1964 vintage has reached the peak of maturity. Each bottle encompasses The Glenlivet's classic Speyside character with many layers of subtle complexity. Rich, fruity aromas of raising and ripe bananas. Notes of sherry and walnuts interplay with a spicy oakiness. Full and wonderfully smooth on the palate with the perfect balance of sweet plums and the deep floral extravagance of heather in bloom. 22
