Cut 1 pound of your soap base into small squares. (Most melt and pour soap bases come in 2-pound blocks. Just use 1/2 of the soap base now and save the rest for a different project.) One pound of soap can make between 4 and 8 bars of soap depending on the size of your mold. 2. Place cut-up soap into a microwave safe bowl. Place in microwave and melt for 30 second intervals, stirring in between. We recommend stirring with a popsicle stick for easy cleanup. Once soap is melted, set aside. If you don't want to use a microwave, you can also use a double boiler. 3. Zest 2 lemons and add zest to melted soap along with the poppyseeds. 4. Add Lemon essential oil and stir until combined. 5. Pour soap into mold. Spray with rubbing alcohol for a smooth top free of bubbles. 6. Let soap harden for 2-3 hours. Once hard, it is ready to be used.

If you need to re-fluff the body butter you can simply whip it back up to the consistency you like with a hand mixture.

Natural Body Wash 8 ounce glass pump bottle 1/2 cup unscented Castile soap 4 tablespoons vegetable glycerin (helps the body wash be thicker, creamier, and lather better) 3 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil 10 drops of your favorite essential oil 1. Combine ingredients into glass pump bottle. 2. Add desired essential oil(s). Tip: For an uplifting body wash try these essential oils: Peppermint, Grapefruit, Lime, or Eucalyptus. For a relaxing body wash try these: Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, or Roman Chamomile. 3. Shake to combine. You're done! Make sure to shake before each use, as the ingredients will separate. Soothing Salve 1/2 cup grapeseed oil 1/2 cup almond oil 2 tablespoons beeswax 1/2 tablespoon vitamin E oil 5 drops Lavender, Cypress, Melaleuca, Frankincense, and Eucalyptus essential oils 1. Melt beeswax in double boiler. 2. Once melted, add grapeseed, almond, and vitamin E oil until melted. 3. Once combined, set aside for 2-3 minutes. 4. Add essential oils and stir. 5. Pour in container and allow to set for 2 hours. 6. To use, apply to skin or on chest.

Kids DIY Paint 2 tablespoons ground herb 2 tablespoons vegetable glycerin 1 teaspoon bentonite clay 3 drops essential oil Note: You could also use an egg white or water instead of vegetable glycerin. However, if you use water or an egg white, the shelf life is only a day. The shelf life with vegetable glycerin is six months. 1. Combine powdered herb, clay, and vegetable glycerin in a small bowl; mix well. 2. Add essential oil and stir. 3. Store in airtight container Tip: You can use empty baby food containers, or essential oil bottles to store paint. Beet Root Powder: Red (Cinnamon) Turmeric Powder: Orange (Wild Orange) Ground Mustard Seed: Light Yellow (Lemon) Skullcap Herb: Light Green (Lime) Spirulina: Dark Green (Peppermint) Bilberry Fruit: Purple (Lavender) Black Walnut: Gray (Balance ) Activated Charcoal Powder: Black (Fennel) Arrowroot: White (Purify)

Natural Air Freshener 1 small Mason jar with band 1/4 cup baking soda 5-6 drops of your favorite essential oil Small piece of fabric 1. Put 1/4 cup baking soda into a small jar. 2. Add 5-6 drops of your favorite essential oil. 3. Put piece of fabric on jar and seal with band. 4. Place jar in an area you would like to keep smelling fresh. This could include: the bathroom, near a garbage can, in your closet, near your dirty clothes, etc. Shake the jar often to activate the fresh scent. 5. If scent starts to fade, simply add 2-3 drops of essential oil to jar.

Aromatherapy Jewelry for Essential Oils Terra-cotta clay (you can find terra-cotta clay that you can bake in your oven or air dry at most large craft stores) Sand paper Stamps (small no more than 1 inch in diameter) Shish kabob stick (or toothpick) String round cut-out object (can use caps left over from hair products, bottle caps, cookie cutter, etc.) Rolling pin (or pen/pencil will work) Scissors Aluminum foil Wax paper 1. Grab a handful of terra-cotta clay and rub in palms of hands until it s soft and pliable. 2. Place a piece of wax paper on the table. 3. Use the rolling pin to roll out the clay until it s 1/8 inch thick. 4. Take your round object for cutting out circles and press firmly into the clay to make the pendant. 5. Remove the excess clay from the cut out pendants. Take each pendant and stamp the design into clay. 6. Once you have stamped the pendants, take your shish kabob stick (or toothpick) and make a hole in the pendant. Make sure the hole is big enough to fit two strands of string into. 7. With the left over clay, make a few small round beads and put a medium to large size hole in the center of it. 8. Once all the pendants have holes, place them on a cookie sheet covered in aluminum foil and bake or air dry according to the specifications provided with your clay. 9. If baking in the oven, be careful to not overbake. They may seem bendable as soon as you take them out of the oven, but they will harden once they cool completely. 10. Once cool, use sandpaper to lightly smooth away any rough edges. It will temporarily change the color of the clay, but it will return to normal once essential oils are applied. 11. Take your string and cut it to your desired length. You might want to add 4-5 extra inches just to be safe. You can always cut the string shorter later on. 12. Take your pendant and put both ends of your string through the hole. Pull the ends through and put them through the loop. Pull tight. This will help your pendant lay flat on your chest.

Aromatherapy Jewelry for Essential Oils (continued) 13. If you want a shorter necklace that can easily be taken on and off, follow steps If not, just tie the two strings together. 14. On one end of the necklace tie a knot a couple inches down. Place a bead on next and then tie a knot on top of the bead so the bead is securely in place. On the other end of necklace, tie a loop that is large enough for the bead to fit through. Cut off any extra string. To take your necklace on and off, simply put the bead in the hole that will act as a clasp. 15. Your necklace pendant is done! Now let s add the aromatherapy element to it. 16. Put 1 drop of your preferred essential oil onto the pendant. Rub the oil around. DIY Flubber 2 bottles white school glue (approx. a cup total) 1/4 + 1/8 teaspoon Borax Essential oil of choice Food Coloring Warm Water Note: Borax is natural, however, it is not safe to eat. Be sure the kids aren t ingesting the flubber as you can t omit the Borax in this recipe. 1. In a bowl, combine the glue and 3/4 cup warm water. 2. Add the food coloring. 3. Add the essential oil of your choice. 4. In a second bowl, combine the Borax and 2/3 cups warm water. Be sure to add the exact amount (1/4 + 1/8) as specified or the flubber will come out stiff and won t stretch good. 5. Slowly pour the glue mixture into the Borax mixture. 6. Mix together with your hands until it forms a ball. 7. Store in an airtight container. Be sure that your kids are playing in play clothes, because the DIY Flubber does stick to clothes if you re not careful (has glue in it).

Hand Sanitizer 5 tablespoons aloe vera gel 4 tablespoons water 1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil 8-10 drops Melaleuca essential oil Travel Size Squeeze Container 1. In a bowl combine aloe vera and vitamin E. 2. Add 8-10 drops of Melaleuca essential oil to the mixture. 3. Add water and mix well to combine. Add more or less water depending on the consistency you want. Pour into a travel size to-go container. Natural Sunscreen 1/2 cup olive oil 1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil 1/4 cup beeswax 2 tablespoons zinc oxide 1 teaspoon vitamin E 2 tablespoons shea butter 12 drops Helichrysum essential oil 1. Add everything except the Zinc Oxide and essential oil in a double boiler or glass measuring cup. Place the cup/bowl in 1-2 of boiling water. 2. Stir ingredients. Once the mixture is melted, set aside and let cool for 3 minutes. 3. Add the Zinc Oxide and Helichrysum essential oil and mix well. 4. Pour into a mason jar and store in a cool place (fridge is best). Mixture will last 6 months.

Baby Wipes with Essential Oils 1 roll premium paper towels 2 cups warm water 2 tablespoons Fractionated Coconut Oil 3 drops Lavender essential oil 3 drops Melaleuca essential oil An airtight storage container / empty wipe container / wet bag 1. Cut the paper towel roll in half with a serrated or electric knife (this electric knife is only $15 and it s a great brand!). Use half the roll now, and half later. 2. Combine water, Fractionated Coconut Oil, and essential oils in a small bowl. 3. Pour the mixture over the paper towels and then cover with the airtight lid letting the mixture absorb for at least 10 minutes. 4. Turn the container over and let it sit for another 10 minutes. 5. Remove and discard the cardboard insert middle piece. Just pull the wipes from the center when you are ready to use. Store in a container of your choice. Soft Scrub Recipe for Bathrooms 3/4 rounded cup baking soda 1/4 cup liquid castile soap 1 tablespoon water 1 tablespoon vinegar 5-10 drops Lemon essential oil 1. Combine the baking soda and castile soap in a bowl. 2. Add water and stir. 3. Add vinegar and essential oil and stir. The consistency should be like soft toothpaste. 4. Store in an airtight container.

Fall Sugar Scrub 3/4 cup white sugar (you can also use brown sugar or sea salt- sea salt will be a little more abrasive to your skin) 1/2 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil (you could also use almond oil, grapeseed oil, or olive oil). 4 drops Cassia essential oil 4 drops Clove essential oil 2-4 drops Ginger essential oil 1. Combine the sugar and Fractionated Coconut Oil into a mixing bowl. 2. Add desired essential oils 3. Stir the mixture until it is the consistency of a slushy (you may need to add more sugar or Fractionated Coconut Oil for desired consistency). If you want to add color to your mixture, do so now (I use natural, skin-safe, food coloring). For separate colors, divide the sugar scrub into bowls depending on how many colors you want to create. If you want three colors, divide into three bowls. 4. Color as desired and carefully pour on top of each layer. Store mixture in an air-tight container.
