She was from Ruapuke Island and married Captain James Joss from Scotland. In 1836 they purchased land from Chief Tuhawaiki on nearby Stewart Island to farm vegetables and build their home. They loved their land and Hayden s ancestral whakapapa inspired this wine. Matured in French oak the 2015 displays dark cherry, game, cedar, clove and earthy mushroom characters.
