MAKER S MARK In the early 1950 s Bill Samuels, Sr., a sixth-generation Kentucky distiller, experimented with the family recipe and substituted red winter wheat for the usual grain. Casks are handselected and chosen for their exceptional quality and flavor, lending unique character to the rare, complex, incredibly smooth whiskies used for the Blue Label. JOHNNIE WALKER BLACK 4.5 ltr One of the world s most famous 12 year old blends, Johnnie Walker Black is a combination of about 40 whiskies, beautifully balanced. The nose is quite full, with suggestions of spice and treacle, as well as white pepper and a little citrus. Notice the rich palate and long finish that is fruity with hints of sultanas and mixed peels. Black Label has set the standard since CHIVAS REGAL 4.5 ltr Chivas Regal is a world-famous Scotch blend which was first made in the early 20th century by the Chivas Brothers, whose company traces its roots back to 1801, with the opening of a grocery store in Aberdeen. Selling luxury food, coffee and spices, it wasn t until post- US Prohibition that Chivas Regal 12 Year Old was first officially released. F. Paul Pacult, a leading expert on distilled spirits, described Chivas Regal 12 as the blend for grown-ups, awarding it an impressive 9 out of 10. A very refined blended whisky, with notes of herbs, honey and fruit, it is regularly praised by critics. This is a superb blend and a great value.

6 BARTENDER FAVORITES RECOMMENDATIONS Knob Creek 7.95 Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an established classic bourbon from Jim Beam. First created by Booker Noe, a father of the small batch movement, and introduced in 1992, it was named after the creek which flows near Abraham Lincoln s childhood home. Talkiser 25 yr Talisker, one of the most remote distilleries in the world, is located on the rugged Isle of Skye and boasts a colorful history dating back to Attacked by the local clergy, praised by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson and set back by a still-room fire in 1960, Talisker has endured and today produces some of the smoothest and character full malts in Scotland, with an aroma and taste reminiscent of the wild and stormy Isle. Hellyers Road Hellyers Road Single Malt is distilled from Tasmanian grown malted barley, yeast and pure Roaring Forties rainwater (produced by the most westerly - Roaring Forties - winds that circle Earth s southern latitudes), with no artificial color or chilled filtration. Yamazaki This single malt whisky from Suntory s Yamazaki distillery in Japan, is jampacked with juicy red berry notes, a result of the whisky being matured in Bordeaux wine casks and Sherry casks. It also features malt matured in Mizunara casks, adding subtle oak notes to a vanilla finish that lingers with a final accent of spicy sweet cinnamon. 7 BARTENDER FAVORITES BOURBONS & RYES Woodford Reserve 7.50 The mashbill for Woodford Reserve distinguishes itself with a high 18% rye. It is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel, where it matures for at least six years. A must-have Kentucky bourbon with touches of espresso, toasty oak and a little smoke. Basil Hayden An artfully aged 8 yr. old small batch bourbon named for Jim Beam s historic Master Distiller, Basil Hayden Sr. who, in 1796, created a bourbon with an added mix of small grains for added spice to complement the smoothness of the corn in the standard recipe. Rittenhouse Rye 9.00 Produced in the tradition of the classic Pennsylvania or Monongahela rye whiskys, Rittenhouse is a popular rye for sophisticated whisky drinkers who appreciate classic styles. Likewise, it is a favorite of mixologists for its robust flavors that are perfect for cocktails. Whistle Pig Rye Master Distiller Dave Pickerell sought to make the best rye whiskey in the world when he created Whistle Pig, which is distilled in Canada from 100 percent Canadian rye grain, but bottled in Vermont, USA. It embodies the perfect combination of proof, purity and age. The heavy barrel produces color and aromas usually associated with bourbon. Hints of lush vanilla and toasted spices are well balanced with a finish that is among the smoothest of the ryes. NEW AND NOTEWORTHY Booker s True Booker s True Barrel Bourbon, named after Booker Noe, Jim Beam s grandson and former Master Distiller, was first released in It is a small batch bourbon aged for 6 to 8 years and bottled at cask strength, resulting in a rich, full-bodied whiskey. A drop or of water is often suggested to fully release the flavor. Hakushu 12 yr This herbal and gently smoky single malt is straight from the untouched forests, mountains, and pure waters of the Southern Japanese Alps. It is no wonder that Hakushu is a green and fresh whisky, sought after by the most curious whisky connoisseurs for its crisp, vibrant feel that enlivens and liberates the senses. Eagle Rare 9.00 Masterfully crafted and carefully aged for no less than ten years, the unique quality of this exceptional bourbon is evident in its complex aroma, as well as the smooth and lingering taste. Eagle Rare is a bourbon that lives up to its name with a distinctive taste that must be experienced. Russell s Reserve 10 yr Only a handful of barrels are selected in small batches from the middle section or center cut of the rick house by Master Distiller, Jimmy Russell and his son, Associate Master Distiller, Eddie Russell. The whiskey ages for a minimum of 10 years in the deepest charred barrels for richer color and deeper flavor; smooth with creamy toffee and vanilla tones.
