3 This cup has been specially designed having in mind the unique characteristics of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. Because of its peerless design, this cup will optimize and maximize the enjoyment of the Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee drinking experience. Never before a cup was specifically designed as a function of an individual coffee, on the contrary, up to now the coffee cups in the market were commodi tized to serve any coffee in them regardless of the specific taste characteristics of the coffees, in other words, the coffee cups were designed with no specific coffee in mind. We have completely changed this concept, and for the first time in history we have employed a reverse process; to design a coffee cup considering the specific characteristics of a particular coffee, but not any coffee, Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, the best in the world. 3

5 The Perfect Cup Unique Design Features I. Perfect Parabola Bottom. Our cup has an extra concave bottom, making a perfect parabola shape in order to avoid the breakage of the delicate Jamaica Blue Mountain crema. 5

7 II. The Cupola. One of the most salient characteristics of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is its delightful aroma which is why, in order to protect and make it endure for as long as possible, the cup includes a cupola. There are more than 800 compounds responsible for the coffee aroma so any effort to protect it will result in a better enjoyment of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. The cupola feature has a positive effect conserving the ideal temperature of the coffee and keeps the aroma trapped in the cup to the drinker s pleasure. 7

9 III. Wall Thickness Gradual Tapering. Our cup is thicker at the base in order to keep the coffee at the ideal temperature for its enjoyment and it is thin at the lip area in order for the drinker to maximize the lip contact area with the coffee itself and hence have a more enjoyable experiencing of the velvety body of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. 9

11 The Creators: To design the Perfect Cup we assembled the world s most knowledgable experts in their fields. The following parties, each of them the best in the world in their field, were the ones who developed, designed, and manufactured the Perfect Cup the Jamaica Blue Mountain cup: David K. Evans: Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Taste Technical Advisor Mr. Evans is arguably the world s foremost Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee expert. He worked for 30 years as the certified and official head cupper of the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board, the official Jamaican government entity in charge of the overall quality control of Blue Mountain coffee. Mr. David K. Evans was instrumental advising the designers in regards to the Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee taste characteristics that had to be taken into account in the design of the Perfect Cup. Mr. Evans continuously evaluated the effect of the different cup features proposed by the designers in the taste of the Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee. He gave his expert feedback to the designers and the cup features were progressively fine-tuned over time until his final approval to the design was given. Mr. Christopher Gentles, General Director of the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board During this whole and lengthy process of bringing the Perfect Cup to life, Mr. Christopher Gentles Director General of the Jamaica Coffee industry Board (CIB) and his staff were fully involved and provided their expertise and valuable advise throughout. The Jamaica Coffee Industry of Jamaica is the official Jamaican government entity in charge of the overall regulation of the coffee industry and its protection worldwide. The Jamaica Coffee Industry Board seal has been affixed to the Perfect Cup and is a signal of the official approval by this important entity. Cerámica Industrial La Montagatina (CIM): Manufacturing The cups are manufactured in an artisan way by the porcelain artists of Cerámica Industrial Montgatina (CIM) founded in 1935 and located in Montgat, Barcelona, Spain. CIM has mastered the art of porcelain and ceramics to produce the dinning sets used by the best cooks in the world. CIM has made the dinning sets designed by artists Mr. Bregaña and Ms. Ibañez and used in the best restaurants in the world. The porcelain used to make the Perfect Cup The Jamaica Blue Mountain Cup is of the highest possible purity, extrawhite, highly translucent, and continental hardness. 11

13 Santos Bregaña: Designer The design of the cup was conceived by Deunor Bregaña and Ana Ibañez of Taller de Diseño Laia in San Sebastián, Basque Region, Spain. They are the exclusive designers of the dinning sets used by the most renowned and famous cooks in the world like Ferrán Adriá, Seiji Yamamoto, Martin Berasategui, Pedro Subijana, Luis Aduritz, Charlie Trotter, etc.. His dining sets have been used in the world s best restaurants like El Bulli, Catalonia, Spain, Ruygin, Tokyo, Akelarre, Lasarte, Mugaritz, Basque Region, Basque Region, Sant Pau, Barcelona, Zaytinya, Washington, Le Bagatelle, Oslo, La Spiaggia, Chicago, Vendôme, Cologne, Charlie Trotter s, Chicago, Tetsuya s, Sydney, Dom, Brasilia, Noma, Copenhagen, Ritz Carlton Hotels, etc. Mr. Ferran Adria, whom to many experts is the best cook in history, declared in his book El Bulli 2005 that the dinning sets designs of Mr. Bregaña and Ms. Ibañez were so extraordinary that inspired him to create some of his dishes in a complete different way. Among their many awards and professional achievements, Mr. Bregaña and Ms. Ibañez were awarded with the New York s Arts Director Club (ADC) Design Award in 2008, this is the world s most prestigious design award known as the Oscar for the design world. 13
