2 1. Disassembly: Unplug the machine from outlet. Remove drip tray and water tank. Remove bean hopper and preground lid. Remove the Philip or 4 Torx screws (size T10) as pointed by the arrow. 2. Remove the cup warmer plate Grind adjustment knob 3. Remove the additional three screws and pull the grind adjustment knob. This will free the top cover of the machine. remove the cover.

3 Encoder Clamp 4. Remove the Encoder clamp and Encoder. 5. On the back of the machine remove the two oval screws (Use special oval key here. This is an attempt by Jura to discourage self repairs. The key is expensive and can be ordered Part # STOK-35). Remove the rear plate by slightl downward pull.

To remove the door the steam knob needs to be taken off.

To remove the door the steam knob needs to be taken off. Insert finger tips behind the round of the knob and grab to pull away (see green arrows). Next release the mounting plate by pressing the retaining tongue and push the plate backward to free it. The door opens an inch or so. More attachments to be freed on the back of the door to open wide.

This will release door to open wide. Front view Rear view 9. Now a full view of internal assembly is visible from rear, front and top with access to parts that need replacement. After the parts are replaced follow the steps backwards to close the housing.

-First step to reassemble the machine, reconnect the hose assembly to the height adjustable coffee spout.

Make sure the connection is locked right for leak free union.

Then press the top end of the door to snap the door hooks into the upper edge of mounting plate.

6 -First step to reassemble the machine, reconnect the hose assembly to the height adjustable coffee spout. The above picture shows the parts to be connected. Make sure the connection is locked right for leak free union. The next step is done simultaneously - connect the steam pipe to connect the hose assembly (see yellow circle) while connecting the slots in the door to snap lock in the mounting plate (lower green circle). Wet the insert end of the steam pipe with some lube to facilitate smooth slide into the O-ring. Then press the top end of the door to snap the door hooks into the upper edge of mounting plate. Once door is secured closed, replace the screw and then replace the steam knob. Make sure to align the "flat side" of the knob pin before pushing the knob to engage the steam valve right and it switches the function from coffee to steam function. Then replace the rear panel and secure with sensible USA screws.

7 Grind adjustment gear Partition Encoder Clamp Hoses -Before replacing the top cover, replace the Encoder and clamp it. Make sure the partition is not damaged or be caught under. Clear the hoses and set properly in the groove (circled) so the same do not get squashed under the cover and block flow of water or steam as the case may be. The grind adjustment gear pin will come through the hole in the cover. Then replace the screws to secure the top cover. Then replace the cup warming plate and secure the four screws. Adjust the coffee shoot to align correctly. Replace the drip tray, the water tank and coffee grounds receptacle. The job is done. Grinder removal and installation in the following pages

Bring the grind adjustment knob to center position and remove the two screwsin the beans container. Pull the bean container up and out. The knob link may need some extra help to pull. With thumb and finger grip, pull the shoot up and out (yellow circle). It may need effort and wiggling to release. While pulling the shoot up, use the other hand to keep the grinder pressed down at the spider in the center.

After removing the bean container and the shoot, not the yellow marks (Take a picture) on the adjustment gear and stem. The mark on the gear pointing to the center of the grinder, and yellow square of the stem run parallel to the walls (see blue lines). Remove the rubber gasket and pull the grind adjustment gear up while holding the grinder down. It needs effort. 5. Next, remove the three Torx screws. Then remove the three rivets from the rubber support and save with the screws.

The Grinder now can be pulled up and tilted to the side to see the bottom of Grinder motor. Note the wire ports are marked (+) and (-).

11 5. Next, remove the three Torx screws. Then remove the three rivets from the rubber support and save with the screws. The rivets need to be inserted back later. Electrical connector Positive mark Minus mark 6. The Grinder now can be pulled up and tilted to the side to see the bottom of Grinder motor. Note the wire ports are marked (+) and (-). Mark these signs and Tag the respective wires to reconnect exactly to correct position. (Plus = transparent; Minus = black; In other models the wire marks may be different e.g. white (+) and blue (-) in some other models, there may be no color marks. If so, color mark them for reconnection correctly. Disconnect the wires and pull the Grinder out. Warning: The wires do not disconnect easily. Do not hold the wire to pull free. Use a small flat screw driver to wedge in and push the contact plate (see star mark) to lift the tab. Once it is lose then grab the connector with nose pliers to pull away.

All three latches removed, separate & remove the adapter from the grinding unit.

One latch at a time, press each of the latch with your finger, or possibly with a screwdriver outwards (see green arrow, above right) and back (black arrow). All three latches removed, separate & remove the adapter from the grinding unit. To assemble, follow the simple instructions backwards = -Install the adapter ring on the new grinder on (cut the adapter needs to Grinder outlet) and slide it into place prior to the locks. -Check whether the rubber bumpers to be fixed in the buffer (see the blue circle) are present, if not, either use the rubber pads of the expanded bumpers or possibly new rubber bumpers. Re-connect the electrical connections of the motor (check the notes or picture from disassembly). Should the existing connectors not fit on the new engine, they must be cut off and replaced with appropriate size connectors. We hope that you have access to suitable crimp tool.

If so, follow the process below: Hold the grinder assembly upside down with the ground coffee outlet facing top. Imagine the round bottom in two half (yellow line). The right half (in red) is positive contact and the left half is negative contact. Motors from Johnson DC751(2)SLG have the Minus on the side of a pinch in the metal as shown inside red circle in the picture on right. The good thing is the wire switched by mistake will not damage the grinder motor. It is a DC electric motor. It will spin in the opposide direction and the beans will not be pulled in for grinding. If this happens, the grinder wires have to be switched back correctly. That is a penalty of extra work for the wiring mistake. Insert grinder in its place. Now reconnect the three rivets in the rubber bumper. Fasten the grinder outlet with plastic Tie. Insert the grind adjustment gear. See pictures next page below. See the pictures in the next pages to complete the assembly and adjustments. Test the rotation of the grinder. When in grind function the burrs should spin clockwise. Test one cup setting after the drip tray, water tank are replaced in place. Once tested OK, then complete the replacement of top cover and cup warmer.

15 Now put the hopper back, make sure that the knob for adjustment is roughly at center and the connecting pin is inserted in the gear, and then tighten the two screws. Again, check that the seals are in place for both the bean container and sit in the right place. Finally, assemble the housing again. A manufacturer representative pointed out that Jura policy is on the same line as Apple with a closed gaurded control and non share policy.
