3 Name Designer Backstamp Details The Artisan Tableware Collection (working title) Maham Anjum Grey Backstamp MARKETING INFORMATION Summary Copy Extended Copy Royal Crown Derby introduces The Artisan Tableware Collection, a modern take on traditional shapes, combining the hand craftsmanship and artisanal creativeness using new techniques unseen before on fine bone china by embracing both past and the present to give functionality in this new collection. Reflecting the trend for individuality and handmade within casual luxury, the Artisan Tableware Collection provides expression, inspired by bold abstract artists sketches reminiscent of an artist s brushstroke, exemplifying the craftsmanship of Royal Crown Derby s skilled artisans and adding opulence to the collection. The pattern represents a spontaneous expression of freedom and the desire for something that is skilfully designed and perfect for layering as part of your own style, dressing up and mixing and matching for the ultimate stylish table setting whatever the occasion. With the desire for luxurious tableware in opulent colours, natural surfaces and precious hand crafted, exuding refinement and finesse, the Artisan Tableware Collection is currently offered in one colour: China Blue giving the ultimate in statement tableware. The epitome of great British craftsmanship, the Artisan Tableware Collection brings a fresh approach in the design and colour, with no restrictions on shape choice with selected items featuring the brand s recognition of using hand gilding in 22-carat gold in an edge finish. Designer inspiration Renowned potter and designer, Maham Anjum has worked on numerous projects with Royal Crown Derby, mainly for the high-end hospitality sector. Maham took inspiration for the Artisan Tableware Collection from studying the Royal Crown Derby archives and shapes to find what is relevant to current tabletop. At the same time, Royal Crown Derby were experimenting with techniques, mainly with brush strokes and glaze applications (which developed into the launch of the Studio Glaze and Sketch tableware collections launched in S/S18 to great acclaim at Ambiente 2018). Utilising the brush technique for adapting the freedom of the blue brush stroke pattern in a water-soluble pigment to flow in the hand

4 applied brush stroke based on dark to light strokes showcases the translucent beauty of the white fine bone china, making sure each piece qualifies to the high standard and quality that the Royal Crown Derby brand stands for.

Organic shapes, material effects and pearly color shades revealed during firing of reactive enamels make unique pieces.
