3 THE GROSCHE Safe Water Project What is the Grosche Safe Water Project? Each day many people around the world die from drinking unsafe water. We have committed to helping people overcome these challenges. For every Grosche product we sell, we fund the creation of 10 liters or more of safe drinking water by providing BioSand water filtration systems to those in need. How can I help out with this crisis? By purchasing any Grosche product, you will be giving 10 liters or more of clean water to a person in need. The Grosche Safe Water Project has installations in South Sudan and India in rural communities with severe water quality issues. Where can I find more information? You can visit to find more information on the safe drinking water crisis and The Grosche Safe Water Project. What is a Bio-filter and how does it work? A BioSand filter is a concrete box filled with gravel, sand, a biolayer, and a diffuser. Naturally occurring aerobic bacteria accumulates in the biolayer, which purifies the water, removing up to 99.9% of all biological contaminants. The water then filters through the sand and gravel, and comes through the outlet tube into a container. These filters last over 20 years and require no electricity and minimal maintenance.
