2 A warm welcome Welcome to our second Christmas Brochure, yet again packed with an exciting selection of chocolate gift ideas to suit all tastes and pockets. As we go from strength to strength, adding new customers every month, our expert chocolatiers are full of ideas for creating their own inventive fillings and eye catching handmade novelties; they never cease to amaze me! I am sure you will find something perfect in our extensive range to either indulge yourself or to treat someone else, whether it s a wholesome packed inclusion bar or a presentation box of assorted chocolates and truffles you always know that it s lovingly created from the very finest ethically sourced Belgian chocolate. Assisted by a small team of co-workers with autism and associated learning difficulties, the training and work experience we provide includes assisting with chocolate production, packaging and labelling, stock taking, dealing with sales enquiries and helping out at local craft markets. It is our aim in 2017 to offer a fully structured learning experience coupled with a work based industry recognised qualification to further aid progression into both internal and external employment. We have the capability to support up to 10 co-workers and actively encourage educational bodies, local authorities and parents and carers to visit us and see for themselves what is on offer. With the advantage of being able to offer places in our adjoining horticulture enterprise co-workers have even more work based opportunities to experience. Next Spring some of the produce we grow will be used in our chocolate recipes so co-workers will be able to assist with growing, product development and manufacturing. We are hopeful that some of our newly formed employer links will lead to external work experience and training opportunities and even permanent employment opportunities. It is lovely to think that many of you reading this brochure have already become regular and supportive customers and your feedback has been wonderful and greatly appreciated by all members of the team. You are most welcome to join us for our annual celebration on Sunday 11th December am until 3pm for a fun filled day of chocolate making, refreshments and music..as well, of course, the opportunity to pick up those last few Christmas gifts, personalised and gift wrapped on the day. 3 Our Company Ampleforth Plus is Autism Plus latest social enterprise and is situated on the edge of the Ampleforth valley, in the heart of the Howardian Hills in North Yorkshire. The enterprise manufactures its own range of artisan chocolates, as well as producing bespoke ranges to order. We have the in house capability to literally make anything in chocolate including hand sculptured and decorated table top masterpieces. Our chocolatiers are assisted by co-workers who all have autism and/or associated learning difficulties. To complement the product ranges we also design and deliver a range of bespoke chocolate workshops ranging from two hour beginner sessions to two day master classes. Our Chocolatiers Andrew Thwaite and Linda Jameson Wilks have between them, over 35 years experience of working with chocolate, they both claim to have the dream job! Andrew trained as a chef specialising in pastry and chocolate, and has experience in many different roles, from working in Europe, founding his own chocolate-making business, to involvement with the Derbyshire Chocolate Company and York s very own Chocolate Story. Linda was a Team Leader and Product Developer at Betty s for over 10 years, prior to that she was head cake decorator at Ainsleys Bakery. Linda met Andrew while working at Betty s, years later they were re-acquainted when she was a demonstrator at York Chocolate Story. Linda has produced many amazing sculptures in chocolate, she is also an expert cake decorator and sugar craft tutor. We use fresh fillings made to our own bespoke recipes, lovingly hand decorated and finished. Our Christmas range is packaged in a range of seasonal boxes incorporating reds, greens and gold and our ever popular grained matt black, in a range of sizes from 4 up to 48. Our hand crafted Christmas themed models are unique, individually designed and created in house. We specialise in the use of vibrant colour and hand piping techniques. Our chocolate Christmas tree baubles are available plain or decorated, with the option to personalise. Our piece de resistance is our bespoke hand crafted Christmas House available in white (adorned with dolly mixtures) or milk chocolate (plain and lustred) To complement the chocolate and truffle range we having stocking filler reindeer, pudding, snowman, robin and Santa s boot lollies, seasonal 40gm and 100gm inclusion slabs, presentation boxes of popular truffle choices, almond rochers and ginger clusters.
