6 HOW TO GET STARTED 1 - WHAT IS THE INITIAL FEE? The initial fee secures the rights to trade as MAXI S, using the MAXI S business system, training programs, the operations and policy information and other intellectual property, including the licensed trade names and trademarks, as well as other support necessary for a new franchise business to open and operate. 2 - HOW MUCH IS THE INITIAL FEE AND WHEN IS IT PAYABLE? A refundable deposit of R 110,000 ex VAT is payable upon submission of the franchise Application Document. This is required to start your journey to open your very own MAXI S restaurant. Once a site has been allocated this deposit forms part of your joining fee. 3 - WHAT IS THE ESTIMATED SET UP COST OF A MAXI S AND WHAT DO I GET FOR THIS? The set up cost is approx R 1.8m - R 2.2m based on the store size not exceeding 180m 2-220m 2 and is inclusive of the initial fee, but excludes working capital. 4 - HOW MUCH WORKING CAPITAL IS REQUIRED? Approx. R 200, HOW MUCH IS REQUIRED FOR STOCK? Approx. R 85, HOW MUCH ARE THE ROYALTIES? The royalties are set at 6% management and 4% marketing. 7 - WHAT WOULD MY FUNDING REQUIREMENTS BE? 50% unencumbered liquid capital will be required and our management team will assist you with the process to obtain the balance of funds in the form of a business loan from one of the financial institutions that we deal with.
