1 Ohio State Beekeepers Association Annual Fall Conference November 2nd, 2013 Plain City, Ohio Tolles Career & Technical Center 7877 US Highway 42 South Plain City, OH The Ohio State Beekeepers Association is holding its annual Fall Conference at Tolles Career & Technical Center in Plain City, Ohio. Based on past attendance, and the central Ohio location, we anticipate attendance of over 200 beekeepers. Tolles Career & Technical Center is our new, larger meeting location for our Fall Conference. This new location is accessible, and offers improved parking, larger classrooms, larger room for lunch and a huge hall for vendors. This facility will enhance the conference experience for participants and vendors and will provide a location where we can continue to grow. We welcome you to participate as a Vendor at our Conference. Tables are only $15 and include a quarter page advertisement in the Program Guide that is distributed to all attendees in the Welcome Packets. Additional tables are only $5 each. If you are unable to attend the event, we encourage you to provide, brochures, catalogs handouts, or any donations to Auction Tables. You can also purchase advertising space in the Program Guide. OSBA will be heavily marketing the Fall Conference with ads in Bee Culture Magazine, local media as well as the OSBA website, Facebook and contact. In addition, invitations will be sent to all Ohio local beekeeping associations as well as the nearby associations in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan. We expect this conference to be well attended. It will be an event that you will want to attend.

2 Keynote Speaker Phil Craft will be our Keynote Speaker. Phil served as the Kentucky Dept. of Agriculture s State Apiarist from 1999 through He is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio (BA in biology), and the University of Kentucky (BS in civil engineering). He is a past president and past chairman of the Heartland Apicultural Society, past program chairman of Eastern Apicultural Society, and past president of the Apiary Inspectors of America. A native of the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, he now lives out in the sticks in the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky near Lexington with his family, a very old dog, and some bee hives. He will be speaking on 'Reducing Winter Colony Loss' and 'Varroa Mite Biology and Control' Our guest speaker, Michael Bush, is the author of 'The Practical Beekeeper - Beekeeping Naturally. 3 Vendor Setup and Booth Information A 10 foot wide booth by 8 foot deep, is $15 and includes a 1/4 page advertisement in the Program Guide. Additional 10 foot booths are $5 each. Each booth will include an 8' table and chairs unless the vendor does not require them. Vendors may also setup a trailer in the parking lot if they have paid for a booth. Vendors are also requested to donate an item for auction; proceeds are used to offset the cost of the conference. Setup for vendors is Friday, November 1 from 7PM to 9PM and Saturday, November 2 starting at 7AM. Doors open for attendees at 8AM for Pre-Registration. We recommend you reserve your spot early so that it can be advertised on the OSBA website and in other locations. Donations, Brochures and other Hand Outs OSBA welcomes any additional donations of beekeeping related items to be used as door prizes and our traditional auction to support the Conference. These items will be displayed with the donor's name for attendees to view. Any Brochures, Catalogs and other Hand Outs will made available for attendees to pick up. If you wish your literature to be included in the Welcome Packets instead, be sure to send at least 200 copies. We expect more than 200 attendees. They may upgrade to a larger ad for the difference between the 1/4 page ad and the larger advertisement. Advertisements may be submitted electronically to editor@ohiostatebeekeepers.org.
