1 FOOD SERVICES LEAD - LEVEL 2 High school graduation or equivalent or demonstrated skills in reading, writing, and communications with two years of training in food services. School district experience desirable. Alternative combinations of training and experience will be evaluated by the personnel office for comparability. Excellent customer service skills Effective oral communication skills Ability to organize time and resources in order to complete the requirements Ability to deal with students in a positive and confident manner Ability to learn the operation of a POS register, kitchen equipment, and appliances Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, and administrators Ability to work effectively under pressure and be flexible Ability to lead others Knowledge of basic food handling techniques Ability to follow district policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and provide excellent customer service State of Washington Food and Beverage Service Worker's Permit. Reports to principal/principal's designee. Receives training, direction, and support from Food Service Director. Cafeteria environment primarily; work requires dexterity and flexibility; required to stand for prolonged periods. Required to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds of supplies or equipment. This position provides hot and cold food for students. Responsibilities include preparation of food, setting up serving line, operating POS register, and performing a variety of other duties as required. Depending upon individual assignment, position performs all or a combination of several of the following duties: 1. Prepares daily productions records 2. Orders food items using authorized order guide based on purchasing program; communicates with authorized vendors; verifies appropriate food deliveries 3. Submits menus to Food Service Director for nutritional value information 4. Prepares all invoices and forwards to Food Service Director for payment 5. Makes daily bank deposits

2 6. Supervises kitchen staff 7. Operates POS register, if necessary 8. Operates various kitchen equipment and appliances 9. Sets up equipment for sale of food and related items 10. Serves lunches to students in food line 11. Maintains accurate system to audit inventory against sales 12. Cleans up utensils and kitchen area; leaves in sanitary condition 13. Launders all materials used for cleaning 14. Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as required by district and local health codes 15. Maintains daily log of food and refrigerator temperatures 16. Performs related duties as assigned

Depending on individual assignment, position performs all or a combination of several of the following duties: Front Line Worker 1. On-site contact person. 2. Prepares food items as directed according to daily menu. 3. Operates kitchen equipment and appliances. 4. Sets up equipment for sale of food and related items.

4 5. Cleans up utensils and kitchen area; leaves in sanitary condition. 6. Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as required by district and local health codes. 7. Sets up and serves meals on food serving line. 8. Assists with checking in deliveries and ordering as directed. 9. Cools and stores leftover food items as required by local health department guidelines. 10. Performs related duties as assigned. Cashier 1. Operates POS register; takes money and makes change as necessary. 2. Maintains POS computer and programs necessary changes. 3. Reconciles cash with sales at the end of each day and takes completed deposits in locked bag to bookkeeper. 4. Maintains student accounts and prints POS reports. 5. Cleans up utensils and kitchen area; leaves in sanitary condition. 6. Follow building procedure for communication regarding student account balances. 7. Assists with meal line as necessary. 8. Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as required by district and local health codes. 9. Performs related duties as assigned. Snack / Salad Bar Worker 1. Sets up and takes down snack/salad bar. 2. Assist with meal line. 3. Takes money and makes change for sale of all snack items. 4. Tracks inventory of snack items and submits requests for needed food items to Food Service II. 5. Cleans up utensils and kitchen area; leaves in sanitary condition. 6. Follows all safety and sanitation procedures as required by district and local health codes. 7. Performs related duties as assigned.

Excellent customer service skills Effective oral communication skills Ability to organize, including the loading of hot and cold carts according to delivery route Ability to deal with students in a positive and confident manner Ability to learn the operation of a POS register, kitchen equipment and appliances Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students Ability to work effectively under pressure and be flexible Ability to take and follow directions Ability to do math calculations Record of safe driving Safe driving class preferred Ability to follow district policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff and provide excellent customer service Driver s license and State of Washington Food and Beverage Service Worker's Permit. Reports to principal/principal s designee. Receives training direction and support from Base Kitchen Lead and/or District Food Service Supervisor. Cafeteria environment primarily; work requires dexterity and flexibility; required to stand for prolonged periods. Required to lift or carry a maximum of 50 pounds of supplies or equipment. Loading and unloading hot and cold carts at elementary school sites. May be required to serve food at site along delivery route. This position delivers hot and cold carts to elementary school sites and assists as needed in this function. Work requires the use of a truck mounted lift gate and knowledge of delivery truck. In addition to deliveries, responsibilities include service of food during elementary lunch. 1. Loads hot and cold carts and delivers to elementary school sites. 2. May be required to serve food at site along delivery route per requirements of Food Services Level I job description. 3. Picks up and returns carts to base kitchen for unloading and cleaning. 4. Performs related duties as assigned.
