Fifth St. (Race St.) Excellent ambiance for a drink, even if you eat dinner elsewhere The Palace American (New) Downtown 601 Vine St. (6th St.) Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse Steakhouse Downtown 700 Walnut St. (7th St.) This is probably your best bet for red meat. Or equally well, Ruby s The Precinct in Mt. Lookout, if you have a car or are willing to take a taxi. Jean-Robert s Table Contemporary French Downtown 713 Vine Street (bet. Garfield Pl. & 7th St.) Headed by Jean- Robert de Cavel, former Master Chef at Maisonette, which was the highest rated North- American restaurant until it closed in Boca Italian, French Downtown 114 E 6 th Street Possibly my personal favorite restaurant on this list.

6 Morton's The Steakhouse Steakhouse Downtown 441 Vine St. (5th St.)] High end chain restaurant Via Vite Italian Northern Downtown 520 Vine St. (5th St.) [2 blocks] One of the best Pizza places in Cincinnati Nada Mexican Downtown 600 Walnut St. (6th St.) [3 ½ blocks] Contemporary Mexican cuisine. Tends to be noisy, but lots of people like it Montgomery Inn Barbecue Downtown 925 Riverside Dr. (Eggleston Ave.) This is a Cincinnati BBQ tradition. However, it is generally agreed the best BBQ in town is Eli s Barbeque, 3313 Riverside Dr ive (you will need a car or taxi). Palomino American (New), Mediterranean Downtown 505 Vine St. (5th St.) [3 blocks] High end chain restaurant Teak Thai Cuisine Thai Mt. Adams 1051 St. Gregory St. (Jerome St.) Mt. Adams is a popular neighborhood, but you ll need to drive or take a taxi.

7 McCormick & Schmick's Seafood and Steaks Downtown 21 E. Fifth St. (Vine St.) High end chain restaurant The Rookwood American (New) Mt. Adams 1077 Celestial St. (Monastery St.) A Cincinnati landmark this was a pottery; the kilns are incorporated into the restaurant, and they have an excellent collection of Rookwood pottery! Car or Taxi. Celestial Steakhouse Eclectic / Int'l, Steakhouse Mt. Adams 1071 Celestial St. (Monastery St.) [1.2 miles, and up hill] The view is excellent. This is another good option for a drink. Dinner Options Around Cincinnati, Not Rated, but Worth Considering La Poste American (New) 3410 Telford Street (off Ludlow Ave.) min walk from UC Campus. For dessert, just order the bread pudding, which is arguably the best I ever had. Senate American (New) Over-the-Rhine 1212 Vine St. (bet. 12th & 13th Sts.) Best known for high end hot dogs, truffle fries are a must.

8 Moerlein Lager House American (New) Downtown 115 Joe Nuxhall Way (Waterfront) Nice place for waterfront dining, with beer from its own brewery. Teller s of Hyde Park American (new) Hyde Park 2710 Erie Ave Housed in a former bank. You can even dine inside the vault. Has a second floor patio for outdoor dining. East of Campus, accessible by bus. A Tavola Pizza Over-the-Rhine 1220 Vine St Italian style pizza. Open late. Taste of Belgium Bistro American (New) Over-the-Rhine 1135 Vine St Probably unlike anything you would find in Belgium, but food is good, and prices are reasonable.
