Iowa BB-61 Wednesday, June 5 Fee: $46.00 Leave: 9:00 a.m. Return: 3:00 p.m. At 10:15 am, we arrive at the newest attraction in the Port of San Pedro, CA The U.S.S. Iowa will be an interactive tour experience that will allow the visitor to experience what life at sea on board Battleship Iowa was like during active duty. Tours are self guided and NON-ADA compliant. At 1:00 pm we arrive for lunch (included) at the 22nd Street Landing Seafood Grill & Bar near the ship. Entrée choices are: Smoked Salmon Spinach Salad tossed with bacon, tomatoes, fresh mushrooms & cucumbers prepared in a creamy grilled apple vinaigrette dressing & shredded fried yams, or a Barbecue Chicken Salad with black beans, corn, and grilled onions, tossed with chipotle ranch dressing, or a Chicken Marsala braised in wild mushrooms marsala sauce, served over fettuccini, or a Penne Pasta Primavera tossed with fresh broccoli, spinach, mushrooms in a marinara sauce. Azusa Senior Center Trip Refund Policy The Azusa Senior Center does not issue refunds for any cancellation made by the ticket purchaser. We will assist you by providing a list located on the bulletin board by the front counter, to be used to post your ticket availability. 11 Alpaca Hacienda & Old Towne Temecula Thursday, June 20 Fee: $15.00 Leave: 8:30 a.m. Return: 5:30 p.m. This morning we will visit the Alpaca Hacienda for a guided tour, admission included. Enjoy a brief lecture on the history of the alpaca, basic husbandry, and general facts about alpacas. You can also hand feed the animals if desired, take lots of pictures, and learn about their fiber and how it is processed. There will also be a demonstration on how the fiber is handspun into yarn. We will stop in Old Towne Temecula for lunch and on your own; then to Tom s Farm in Corona. Spend the Day in Ventura with Lunch at Whale s Tail Restaurant Thursday, July 11 Fee: $42.00 Leave: 8:00 a.m. Return: 5:30 p.m. We will arrive at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum for a 1 hour docent led tour that features artwork that reflects maritime history from ancient times to the present along with a large display of the 18th Century bone POW ship models and some fabulous stories. We will then visit the Whale s Tail Restaurant for lunch. Call (626) Advance reservations are forfeited at 11:45 am. Late arrivals will be added to the waiting list. If you make a reservation for a Monday, be sure to check in before 11:15 or you will forfeit your lunch reservation. All adults 60 years and older and their spouses are welcome to have lunch. The suggested donation is $1.85 per meal. Guests years shall pay $3.00 per meal. This program is funded in part through Title III of the Older Americans Act as amended by the County of Los Angeles Area Agency on Aging. All meals are served with milk, bread and margarine. She served in our Nutrition Site Council for a few years and was always so helpful. Linda has a good personality and she can make you laugh in no time! She also volunteers at the VFW and really has a heart for our servicemen and supports them well. Even though she sometimes struggles physically at times, it doesn t stop her giving of her time and we appreciate her so much. Thanks again, Linda, you re also so special! The public will be able to view the shuttle in the Endeavor Display Pavilion, located just outside the main Science Center Building, while a new Air and Space Center is being built. When completed, Endeavor will be the centerpiece of this new building, a 200,000 square foot master plan. Combining, an exceptional collection of aeronautic and space artifacts with immersive experiences and hands-on, inquiry-based exhibits, the Air and Space Center will inspire guests to explore the scientific concept underlying aeronautics and the formation and exploration of our universe. We will have a short stop for lunch (on own) at L.A s own Farmer s Market and then we will be off to Downey for a visit at the Columbia Memorial Space Center. This is a self guided tour that allows you to have a hands-on technology inside the 20,000 square foot visitor s center with visual teaching exhibits and more! SOLD OUT 10 Spend the Day at the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens Friday, April 26 Fee: $20.00 Leave: 11:00 a.m. Return: 6:00 p.m. First stop today will be into Pasadena for lunch (on your own) at the Souplantation from 11:30 am 12:45 pm. After lunch we drive into the beautiful area of San Marino for a visit to the Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens, admission included. Tours are self-guided. The library houses one of the world s greatest collection of rare books and manuscripts along with 120 acres of gardens. The main Gallery contains one of the finest collections of full-length 18th century British portraits to be found outside of Britain, and provides and unrivaled opportunity to study British art.
