You will receive delicious rustic cuisine courtesy of Javier, perfectly matched wines, and a boutique restaurant atmosphere ideal for combining business with pleasure. Highly recommended for dining at lunch and dinner is Javier s Table - a rustic degustation menu. All the guests at your table will enjoy signature courses from the menu, with the chef s selection of dishes, created from the freshest seasonal produce You will enjoy complementary access to our data projector, sound system and microphone. 10 Javier Codina Chef de Cuisine Co-Owner - Moda and Moda Events Since opening his classic Edward Street restaurant in 1999, Javier Codina, Chef de Cuisine was quick to establish a reputation for cuisine which is distinctive and highly awarded. His menus are created using the best local produce and by blending influences from France, Italy, and his native Barcelona. Combining a diverse array of flavours with delightful imagination, he produces a harmonious blend of classical and new cuisine, which has brought high praise from critics and patrons. His excellent relationship with growers and suppliers allows him to secure the best local and national produce, personally visiting the markets most mornings before daylight to select ingredients which fuel his daily inspiration. Javier s achievements at the helm of Moda have been recognised by his growing clientele of regular patrons and celebrities alike, as well as with numerous awards achieved over the years. Javier has worked in some of the world s finest dining rooms in Barcelona, San Francisco and the UK. Javier s increasing profile has seen him recently engaged as the guest chef at Sofitel Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a week s celebration of Spanish cuisine, and as a key presenter at the Brisbane Hilton Masterclasses, the Savour New Zealand Festival along with associated chef dinners, the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival, guest chef interviewee on ABC 612 and guest recipe columnist for many publications. His reputation amongst his compatriots has seen Javier regularly host dinners and events for the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Spanish Trade Commission in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, and in one of the places closest to his heart, Barcelona. As well as his professional commitments, Javier is a dedicated supporter and contributor to numerous charities including Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, OzHarvest, YoungCare, Starlight Children s Foundation in Brisbane and was a creator of the Next Generation Chefs Charity Lunch. On a monthly basis, Javier contributes recipes to Brisbane News for their very popular recipe double page feature and Francois passionately pairs Australian, Spanish and other international dishes to his recipes. In 2011, Javier, his family and business partner Francois Le Saveant became Australian citizens. Although they called Australia home, embracing our culture, food, wine and community, this heartfelt occasion holds one of their most precious lifetime memories.
