1 July 2017 THE NATTER Newsletter of the Halton British Canadian Club Inc. Presidents Natter. Hello to you all. Firstly I apologize for the lateness of this edition of the Natter. At last summer is here and I hope you re all enjoying the weather, your gardens and all your other summer activities. The meeting on Friday June 16th was a celebration of Canada s 150 th Birthday and featured Traditional Square Dancing throughout the evening. A Red and White theme was the order of the day with plaid, denim and cowboy hats being suggested for the evening and Canadian themed food being served. We were not there but for those who showed up and tried the dancing, kudos in buckets and thanks to all the committee for carrying on the good work. Especially, the kitchen helpers and Susan Eadie for organizing the dancing. Our next meeting on Friday July 21st will be a Pot Luck evening and I m hoping for a large turnout because I just love the different choices of food. You never know what s going to be there. Please let there be Meat Balls and Trifle. Hahaha. There will also be a sign up sheet for the upcoming BBQ where you indicate your choice of hot food. (Burgers, chicken or sausage). If you cannot make the next club night but would like to come to the BBQ please phone and let me know. There s nothing planned for the August club night yet, but stay tuned for an announcement. Ta Da. There will be a Summer BBQ in the gardens at our house on Sunday August 27 th from 2 6pm. Please bring your chairs, plates, and cutlery together with either a salad or desert (enough for 6 servings) Burgers, sausages and chicken will be provided along with a variety of soft drinks. BYOB. Megs Shellard will not be able to attend any meetings for awhile as she is recovering from a nasty fall and has a broken heel. She would really appreciate any phone calls or visits to see her, as she is completely house bound. Please call first if you would like to visit her.
