On Saturday, October 15th, the Historic Chester Business Association (HCBA) is hosting their 3rd Annual Soup and Chili Ck Off: a culinary extravaganza that offers mouth-watering samples from Morris County s favorite restaurants and eateries. Great Fd...Raffles...and LIVE Entertainment! The goal for this event is to generate exposure for Morris County restaurants and eateries and create an inspiring fd-tasting event that connects chefs from our local restaurants with the general public. Competing restaurants/chefs will provide small samplings (for approx. 600 attendees) of their specialty soup and/or chili, which must include one or more of our co-sponsor s products (French s ) in the recipe. To obtain a sample, attendees must present a ticket (1 ticket = $1.00). At the end of the event, all competitor s tickets will be counted and each competitor will receive 50% of the profits from tickets collected at each table. 4 HISTORIC CHESTER BUSINESS ASSOCIATION RULES & REGULATIONS CO-SPONSOR: JUDGES: NBC s Produce Pete Thank You for participating in this year s Chester Fd Fest: Soup & Chili Ck Off, sponsored by The Historic Chester Business Association. The goal of this event is to promote HCBA, MCTB, and other Morris County Restaurants and Eateries. All participants will have the opportunity to showcase their business at our event through participating in competition, distributing menus, marketing materials, etc. 1. Your application is a firm commitment to participate in the Historic Chester Fd Festival Soup & Chili Ck Off, in accordance to the rules and regulations set forth by its sponsor, The Historic Chester Business Association. 2. Participants must comply with all Borough ordinances including but not limited to Fire Protection, Fd Handling, Health Department and Refuse Removal. (A) An Event Fd Handling License from the Borough of Chester Health Department is required for each participant. The Application is attached and must be returned with your Fd Festival Entry Form. (B) Copy of your Health Inspection Satisfactory placard from your municipality. 3. Participants must come prepared to offer samples of their specialty to 600 attendees. The HCBA will supply each contestant with Soup & Chili Sample Containers to ensure consistency of sample size. 4. Participants must furnish their own display in its entirety tent, table, table cloth, signage, cking/ heating elements, business marketing material, etc. All French s products used in your soup or chili recipe must be on display at your table. Your tent or canopy must be secure, and properly anchored. Participants cannot share their space with other businesses. 5. Participants must include a certificate of insurance for Commercial General Liability with a minimum $2 million general aggregate and $1 million per occurrence and $1 million personal injury. A Certificate of Insurance must be provided. The description block should have the following wording: The Historic Chester Business Association and The Borough of Chester, its elected officials, and the representatives, employees and the successors and/or assigns of both organizations as their interests may appear are named additional insured. The certificate Holder block should include The Historic Chester Business Association, P.O. Box 320, Chester, NJ Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. Participants are required to construct their display and conduct themselves in a manner so as not to interfere with any other participant. Your setup must stay within your assigned display space. Participants are required to arrive during the set up times and have their displays complete, attended and open to the public the entire hours of the show, and cannot take down their display before the closing of the show.

6 Temporary/Mobile Fd Establishment Pre-Opening Checklist Use this checklist before opening your stand at your special event. All fds used are from an approved source. Home-prepared fds are prohibited for use in any retail fd establishment. An exception is made for nonprofit organizations selling non-potentially hazardous fds. Prepackaged, unrefrigerated fds are stored so that they are protected from contamination A thermometer is used to monitor the temperature of refrigerated units. All equipment and utensils used are clean and are protected from contamination by dust, customers, insects or any other source. Ice is purchased from an approved source and is transported in sanitary closed containers. Ice water used to store beverage cans should have a 50 ppm concentration of chlorine. (This is equivalent to 1 teaspn per gallon water) Hand washing facilities are provided if fd is directly handled and prepared at the mobile unit. (Prepackaged hand wash tissues are suitable) Only single service (disposable) utensils should be provided for customer use. Adequate facilities are provided for trash disposal.
