1 T H E A G O R A The Agora at Granville Towers is designed to accommodate your busy schedule. Our staff is dedicated to providing you the highest quality food in a wide variety of choices. We encourage you to call on your Dining Service Management Team or mgrdininggranville@edrtrust.com whenever you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. MEAL PLANS All residents at Granville Towers choose from five meal plan options: Unlimited, 14-meals per week, 8-meals per week, 120 block meals per semester, or 200 block meals per semester. Meal plans may be increased at anytime. Meal plans may be decreased ONLY before move-in for the fall semester or before the first payment for the Spring semester. Contact the Business Office for more information on changing your meal plan. The Dine-Anytime program allows you the option to choose meal times that better meet the needs of your busy schedule. 2 meal is deducted from your card. Take-out lunches are available to accommodate those days when you can t make it back for lunch. (We ll deduct the extra meal in the morning where you can fix your lunch to go.) This service is available Monday - Friday, 7 AM 11 AM. MEAL CARD SYSTEM We use a computerized photo-card system at Granville Towers. A card reader is used at each dining room entrance. Each time you enter The Agora, your Granville Card is swiped through the reader and the encoded data on the card s magnetic strip is electronically processed. Weekly plans are reset every Sunday morning. There may be times when it is important for the Business Office to contact you concerning an emergency message, payment problem, etc., and thus we may put a temporary stop on your card. Please do not misinterpret this to mean that you will not be allowed to eat; you must simply stop by the office to clarify the problem. All questions or concerns about Granville Cards should be directed to a Dining Service Manager. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR CARD. Please report a lost or stolen card to The Agora Office immediately. Once reported, your card will be deactivated in order to prevent unauthorized use. If you should lose your Granville Card, you must make arrangements for a new card. Replacement cards can be purchased for $20.00 in the Business Office during regular business hours. GUEST PASSES Each semester a designated number of guest passes are available to residents who have the Unlimited, 14, and 8 meal plans. These guest 16

3 passes (20 for the Unlimited plan, 10 for the 14-meal plan, and 5 for the 8-meal plan) may be used to pay for meals in The Agora for siblings, family, and friends. (Remember, parents are always our guest in The Agora, so residents should take advantage of these extra passes and invite their friends and other family members to join them for a delicious meal anytime.) Simply inform the checker when you enter The Agora that you d like to use a guest pass and he/she will swipe your Granville Card for the number of guests you have joining you. We kindly ask residents to not use more than four (4) guest passes per day. DINING IN THE AGORA Residents choose a variety of foods from seven different stations: Hearthstone Care for some Home Style Cooking? This station serves foods that make students feel at home; including mashed potatoes, shepherd s pie, and fried chicken. In addition to these, the Hearthstone also has various vegetarian options. Banhe Fusion The Banhe Fusion line specializes in variety. One day this station might be a tapas bar, and the next it could be serving Asian buffet-style cuisine. A New York deli, a custom smoothie bar, and a Mongolian grill are just a few of the possibilities for this part of the Agora. Cochina Venni When residents are craving Italian food, the Cochina Venni is the place to go. Here they can choose from specialty made pastas to one-of-a kind pizzas. If a student is craving a personal pizza, they can order from an extensive menu of different toppings, crusts, and sauces. 17

4 Fireside Grill The Fireside offers a custom dining experience for everyone. From grilled chicken to gyros, and everything in between, the chefs at the grill can cook up whatever you prefer in no time. Before 11:00 am, fresh made breakfast items, such as omelets, French toast, and breakfast croissants are available here as well. Metro Deli At the Metro Deli choose from all of our deli meats, different cheeses, and breads. We also house our specialty salads here, as well as our bagels, donuts, and a soup of the day. Bella Green Station Here students can create their own custom salad. This garden-fresh salad bar offers a variety of lettuce, toppings, and dressings. Encore Station At the end of every good experience, there ought to be an encore the Agora is no exception. At the Encore Dessert Station we offer cakes, pies, and cookies. Students can also help themselves to our self-serve yogurt. And for a healthier option, the Encore also serves fresh apples, oranges, and bananas for our residents. 18

5 AGORA GUIDELINES You are the only person that may use your Granville Plus card. If someone else tries to use your card, the card will be confiscated and a $25 fee (cash only) will be required before your card is returned. It is your responsibility to keep your card secure. If your card is missing, please report it to a manager in the Agora immediately, so your card can be deactivated. If you have a guest joining you for a meal, you may have the checker swipe one of your guest meals (the number of passes varies by meal plan) or your guest may purchase a meal from the Business Office. We accept cash or check. Non-resident meal plans are available should your guest be a frequent visitor and wish to purchase a meal plan of their own. If you have a block meal plan, you may swipe an additional meal for your guest this can only be done with the block meal plans. Please note that the meals-per-week plan resets on Sunday morning. If you have guest passes, please be aware that our system will automatically take a guest pass if you swipe your card but have used all of your meals for the week. Since we operate as an all you can eat dining facility, we ask that you do not take food or utensils, etc. from the dining room. We ask that you allow ample time for your meal and finish it while you are still in the dining room. As with any buffet restaurant, we do not allow take-outs. We do, however, have a lunch to go program designed for individuals who cannot return during lunch which is available during breakfast, Monday-Friday. Water bottles or coffee mugs are the 19

6 only containers allowed in the dining room for take-out beverages (limit one beverage container per resident). Any exceptions must be discussed with an Agora Manager in advance. We also offer meals packaged to go during Late Night Dining. Meals are limited during this time to one (1) meal per resident per late night period. Guests must be present to use guest passes. All other guidelines still apply, particularly with the use of your Granville Card. Out of courtesy to your fellow residents, we ask that you take your tray and plates to the dish return belt when you leave. Be sure you remove all personal belongings from the tray as Granville Towers is not responsible for lost items. If you misplace your card, please come to the Business Office in the Agora immediately. In order to eat, you will need to have a replacement card made for $20.00 (non-refundable). You may pay this fee with cash, check or credit/debit. Wear shoes and shirts in The Agora; do not wear swimming suits, bathrobes, or wet clothing. Help us prevent unnecessary food waste. Unlimited servings are available - so take only what you can eat and then come back for more as many times as you wish. When doing so, we ask that you not bring back your already-used plate. A clean plate should be used for each additional serving. We also suggest that you prepare your salads prior to your hot line service to insure proper temperature of foods. 20
