Please notify your server on the first evening s dinner if you have any special meal requirements and we would be pleased to accommodate you throughout your stay with us. In this fun slide-show and demo with Chris Standring, we ll look at the pitfalls, the tips and tricks that stylists use and discover how to be chic at any age. FUN WITH FACEBOOK While many of its users are teenagers and young adults, it s also an excellent way for all family members to keep in touch and stay connected in our busy and often geographically dispersed lives. Don t forget to bring your device with you! FLORAL CLASS Join Marna for her floral class. House plant care, repotting, plant location, outdoor vegetable and flower gardening are a few topics that will be covered during this class! 3 DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS WELLNESS & EXERCISE HISTORY TOUR** FITNESS IS FUN Meet for a tour of our iconic property which celebrated 100 years in Learn the history of the 700 acre property and the Great Canadian Lodge tradition that exists in the heart of Jasper National Park. Please wear appropriate footwear. Ilonka Wormsbecker Enjoy a lively, low-key aerobic program (with musical accompaniment) that includes warm-up, aerobic exercise, stretching and relaxation. This is a good workout for the average older adult and is a slightly more advanced class. ADVANCED HIKE** Feeling energetic? Get ready to explore the beautiful surroundings of Jasper National Park. Be prepared for a challenge! Weather permitting. ON YOUR FEET OR ON YOUR SEAT Ilonka Wormsbecker These classes are an entertaining introduction to the use of weights and stretch bands to improve bone density, flexibility and strength. Great for both able-bodied persons and for those with physical limitations. 4 DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS LECTURES PARKS CANADA LECTURE SERIES Wahkootowin is a Cree word that represents the connections that people have to the environment, each other, and themselves. This presentation explores these connections through the Cree teachings of the Medicine Wheel, and the Tipi. TRAVEL LECTURE River cruising 101 With Jo-ann moloney Find out how river cruises provide a unique way of seeing the interior of a county. Learn about life onboard river cruise ships and the advantages of having less than 200 guests on board. Discover the food and entertainment offered onboard and what the accommodations are like. Come see the photos of the highlights of the numerous rivers throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. After attending this seminar you ll have a whole new take on cruising. Marvel at the monuments of Paris, followed by a cruise on Seine River in northern France. On the way to Normandy visit Claude Monet s gardens; Joan of Arc s Rouen; the charming harbour of Honfleur and the D-Day Canadian landing beach in Normandy. The second river, the Rhone, is located in the south of France. See photos of Beaujolais and Cote du Rhone vineyards, medieval villages in Provence; the Pont Avignon, and Arles, where Van Gogh lived. The last part of the class takes us into the Loire Valley with its incredible fairytale -like castles. INTRODUCTION TO BIRDING Steve Kulak Want to learn more about birding but don t know where to start? COOKING DEMO Have some shopping to do? Join us for a trip to town - leaving two times per day. Space is limited. Savour the aromas and tastes of a gourmet cooking demonstration, hosted by The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge s very own chefs. Our culinary team will show you how to create some of our signature recipes. AFTERNOON TEA** MUSEUM TOUR** JASPER SHOPPING TRIP** Join our Fairmont Tea Sommelier, for an interactive Tea Tasting! The Museum includes exhibits on the fur trade, the railway, and early exploration and tourism in Jasper National Park. There is also a gift shop!
