Brown, United States Attorney, Southern District of Alabama 24 th Annual Alabama Statewide LECC Conference Perdido Beach Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama August 31, 2011 September 2, 2011 The beautiful Perdido Beach Resort, located in Orange Beach, Alabama, will be the setting for our annual statewide meeting. The 24 th Annual Statewide LECC Conference will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2011 thru Friday September 2, This packet will provide conference information, a tentative agenda and conference pre-registration forms. Conference check-in/registration will be in the foyer area of the Ballroom at the Perdido Beach Resort on Wednesday, August 31 st from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The program begins Wednesday at 2:00pm and concludes on Friday at noon. Please forward the registration fee of $150 along with the pre-registration form to: Mr. Tommy Loftis, Law Enforcement Coordinator, P.O. Box 1157, Mobile, Alabama 36601, no later than Wednesday, August 24 th. This fee will include conference materials, breaks, a buffet dinner on Wednesday evening and southern continental breakfasts on Thursday and Friday mornings. Lunch will be on your own. Your spouse/guest is welcome to join in on all provided meals, however, they must pre-register and pre-pay. A spouse/guest meal registration form is included for your convenience. Please forward the appropriate fees along with your registration form. Make all checks payable to the LECC Fund. Checks only please. No credit cards or purchase order numbers will be accepted this year. Cash will be accepted only on the day of registration.

3 This year the conference will concentrate on Officer/Agent Safety and Survival. It is essential for today s law enforcement to have all the cutting edge techniques and tools at their disposal. This year s lineup will feature two speakers. The first will be Susan Lewis Simons, from Under The Shield, Inc. The second will be Lt. Jim Glennon of LifeLine Training. Please watch for full agenda along with speaker bios to follow soon. CREDIT INFORMATION: 10 hours executive level APOST and CEU credits will be applied for and will be available on the day of the conference. HOTEL RESERVATION INFORMATION & DEADLINES: The demand for rooms to attend this conference will be high. Therefore, please read the following information regarding your hotel reservations and follow the instructions as given. Also, due to the growing popularity of the Gulf Coast, the Resort has been forced to continue a policy regarding non-registered guests. Please note that all of the facilities, including on-site parking, and its many amenities, are designed to accommodate a limited number of in-house guests. Therefore, to use the facilities you and your family members must be registered guests. Reservations will be made on an individual call in basis. The Perdido Resort has a toll free Group Reservations Telephone Number: You are advised to use this number when making reservations and to be certain to identify yourselves as participants of LECC, Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee or booking ID # 4923 in order to receive the group rate. The conference hotel reservation rate for all standard rooms is $112 per night plus tax. This rate will remain in effect until July 26, After that date the regular room rate will be in effect. Check-in time 4:00pm and check-out time is noon. Guests check-in cannot be guaranteed prior to 4:00pm. CUT-OFF DATE: The Perdido Beach Resort will accept reservations until Tuesday, July 26, If the group rate is not available after the cut-off date, the prevailing room rate will apply. INDIVIDUAL CANCELLATIONS/NO-SHOWS: The Resort will allow guests the right to cancel their individual guest room reservation without penalty up to 72 hours prior to arrival. Based on contracted billing arrangements, the Resort will charge the individuals credit card one night rate for any reservation cancelled within the 72 hours of arrival or upon the guests failure to check in. No show rooms will be held until 9:00am the day following the arrival date on the reservation. After that time, any remaining nights of a no show reservation will be cancelled.

4 Early Departure Fee: In the event a guest who has reserved a room within the LECC block departs the Resort prior to the scheduled departure date, the Resort will add a minimum early departure fee of 50% on one night s room and tax to the guest s individual account. To avoid the early departure fee, the guests should inform the Resort prior to arrival or during check-in of any change in their scheduled length of stay. The Resort will inform guests of this potential charge upon arrival. In the event of a personal emergency, the Resort will work with the guest on an individual basis. Please call the Perdido Group Reservations Telephone Number and make your reservations using the LECC Booking ID # 4923 in order to receive the group rate.
