1 Greetings, The Lake County A s would like to invite you and your club to our st Spring Opener. Our theme this year is FUN AT 21. We have weekend of fun planed for our Model A friends. The dates of this year s event are May 1st, 2 nd, & 3 rd, The host hotel for this year s Spring Opener is The Lodge at Blue Lakes. The Lodge at Blue Lakes is located 7 miles west of Upper Lake on HY20. Registration will be at the Lodge at Blue Lakes on Friday, May 1, from 12:00p.m.-4:00p.m. Raffle prizes will be on display and raffle tickets will be available. You are invited to a Friday night buffet pasta dinner in the dining room of the Lodge from 5:45p.m.-6:45p.m. The hospitality room and bar will be open until 9:00p.m. Captain Bob will be periodically offering boat rides on the lake aboard the SS Titanic. Breakfast and registration for late arrivals will be available on Saturday morning, May 2 nd, at the Lodge from 7:00a.m.-8:30a.m. The line up for our Saturday Tour will be from 8:45a.m.-9:00a.m. in the parking lot of Upper Lake Park located on HY 20 in Upper Lake. Please arrive with a full tank of gas. The Tour will depart Upper Lake Park at 9:00a.m. We will proceed east on HY 20 to HY 53 and then south on HY 53 to Lower Lake High School. It is approximately an hour drive from Upper Lake Park to the High School. Bill Gabe, Program Director of the Auto Shop Program, and students who have been restoring a 1930 Model A pickup will greet us at the High School. Bill and his students will give a summary of the Auto Shop Program and the restoration project. Please refer to the July-August 2013 issue of The Restorer, pages 32&33, for the full story of our Club s donation of the pickup to the High School Auto Shop Program. We will depart the High School and continue our Tour through some beautiful Lake County country roads bound for the Rivera Golf and Country Club for a buffet taco lunch. This leg of the tour is approximately 45 minutes. You will experience one of the most spectacular views of Clear Lake from the dining room and terrace of the Rivera. After lunch, you will be returning on your own to your hotel/motel. The Saturday night banquet will be held at the Lodge. A No Host Social Hour will start at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:00p.m. Our entertainment, raffle, and auction will be held around 7:00p.m. Sunday morning, May 3 rd, breakfast will be on your own. We would like your Club to bring a raffle prize donation. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your participation. Registration will be $55 per person, which includes your Saturday lunch and dinner.
