Naturally, the quality of the food we produce is as important as how we deliver it. We offer a wide range of meals and desserts featuring the finest ingredients and seasoning. However, before it reaches your customers doors, we ensure each meal is delicious, nutritious and visually appealing. As we cook the dishes, we monitor and test the dishes nutritional content, and carefully control levels of salt, sugar and fat. While catering for people with special dietary needs including gluten and dairy free ranges and diabetic choices, we also deliver an extensive selection of texture-modified food for people with eating and swallowing difficulties. Trained and trusted drivers Every member of our driving team has received training in food safety and basic food hygiene, so you can be certain your customers will receive meals at their best. Each driver has also undergone enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks, and wear badges and uniforms for easy identification. 4 Traditional systems When delivered, the temperature of meals must be above the legal limit of 63 C or 82 C in Scotland. This means traditional systems must heat meals to a higher temperature and store them in insulated containers before delivery. However, these systems cannot guarantee temperatures on arrival. So, how do providers try to ensure meals arrive hot? By keeping delivery rounds short and taking costly return trips for more batches. The chart shows when meals regenerated by traditional systems are at their optimum temperature. This occurs when meals have completed the regeneration phase. By the time the delivery window begins, the meals have already started losing their temperature, taste, aroma and nutritional value. This ensures meals are at the legal optimum temperature on delivery. The rear of the vehicle features three independently timed oven chambers and a temperature-controlled fridge. Each oven chamber is programmable to start, regenerate and hold each set of meals. In a typical two-hour delivery, no meal is held for more than 45 minutes. This means the initial temperature doesn t need to be as high as traditional systems, ensuring the meals retain their nutrition, flavour, appearance and aroma.

5 7 simple steps to perfect hot meals 1 apetito Chefmobil doesn t need electrical installations. Just place the meals in the vehicle and begin the delivery. 2 The meals are placed in three separate ovens, in order of delivery times. This ensures meals are reheated even closer to delivery and not held for longer than 45 minutes. 3 4 Salads and cold sweets are placed in the fridge. There s no need to access cool boxes or other areas of the vehicle. The driver can operate the microchip-controlled ovens easily with one touch of the screen next to them. 5 The oven light switches from red to green when the meals are ready to serve. 6 A Secure Digital (SD) card records diagnostic data on the ovens and fridge, including historical temperature information. This provides you with a robust audit trail. 7 Each meal has the shortest possible holding time. The meals regenerate at different times to make sure they arrive in the best possible condition.
