2 Our unique venue In 1975 the National Railway Museum was opened at Leeman Road in York. The huge former steam locomotive depot was an ideal site for a National Railway Museum. Following its conversion and opening as the very first national museum outside London, the museum was an immediate success with the public. Today the NRM is one of Britain s busiest museums and is perhaps the most popular railway museum in the world. It serves a diverse audience at its two sites and elsewhere through its network of partnerships with museums and heritage railways across the UK. Conference Centre The museum has a dedicated conference centre offering six suites each named after locomotives that have transported, inspired and entertained us. This multi-purpose venue which has been twice named Conference Venue of the Year at the Visit York Tourism Awards has a dedicated branded entrance and reception for delegates, unique catering facilities, free guest parking and Wi-Fi throughout. We understand the complexity of organising a conference, and that is why you will have a dedicated event organiser to help you with all the logistics of the day and be on hand throughout to assist with any enquiries to ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible.

Finger Buffet Lunch Assorted sandwiches served on a selection of locally sourced breads Chorizo and red pepper quiche King prawn filo rolls and sweet chilli dip Feta, olive and tomato salad Mixed salad leaves served with a homemade dressing Parsnip crisps and mustard mayonnaise dip Brownie, flapjack bites and tiffin bites Lunch is served with iced water and iced fruit juices Included extras Screen, LCD Projector and PA System in the Mallard Suite, Duchess of Hamilton 1 and Evening Star Theatre 42 inch Plasma Screens in the Rocket Room and Duchess of Hamilton 2/3 Roving and Lapel microphones in Mallard, Duchess of Hamilton Suite 1 and Evening Star, with an additional lectern microphone in Duchess of Hamilton Suite 1 and Mallard Suite National Railway Museum branded stationery for delegates (if required) Admission to the museum during opening hours Break [Can be taken mid-morning or afternoon] Selection of English tea, fruit and herbal teas, and freshly brewed coffee, served with homemade cookies

Arriving by train If travelling to York rail station, please follow the signs inside the station which will lead you out of the back of the station over a footbridge and down a series of steps. Follow the road round and the Museum is on your left (Station Hall) or carry on along the road for the car park and Conference Centre entrance. Arriving by car The museum is clearly signposted from all approaches to the city. All guests can park for free in our Main Visitors Car Park opposite the Car Park Entrance on Leeman Road. The code for free parking will be given to delegates on the day of arrival. If you require overnight accomodation we can recommend some nearby hotels.
