We are known to have some inmates that have decided to serve a sentence longer than life. One that has been named Bigsby, has been known to roam the jail still.

The jail built in 1906 housed many unsavory characters throughout it s years. One of the most notable was HANK WILLIAMS SR., other notables that passed through the Meade County cells where JOHN HUNT MORGAN a member of the Morgan Raiders. OUTLAW JESSE and FRANK JAMES where also guest of the of the Old Meade County Jail. History is alive and well in these walls. We are known to have some inmates that have decided to serve a sentence longer than life. One that has been named Bigsby, has been known to roam the jail still. From time to time you might see, hear, or maybe even feel things that can not be explained. If you do experience something, please let us know. We love to hear stories of what our more permanent patrons are up to.
