2 GOLD- An unaged tequila that has been colored and flavored with caramel. SILVER- Also known as blanco or plata, this is a clear unaged tequila. Its fresh, smooth, peppery flavor is the most direct expression of the agave. Generally used in mixing and blends particularly well in margaritas. REPOSADO- A silver tequila that is rested for less than one year in wood casks or tanks. Usually a light straw color and typically smoother than silver tequilas. They begin to pick up wood flavors of fruit, butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. ANEJO-A silver tequila aged in oak or wood barrels for at least one year and often up to four years. Usually a deep copper color and has dominant flavors of caramel, toffee, roasted nut and rich brown spices. This is an excellent tequila to sip and enjoy.
