Fine foliage, tolerates hard sites Carex buchananii Attractive upright tussock like plant with dark bronze purple leaves. Narrow graceful form, hardy to wind and cold, most soil types. Carex comans Densely tufted tussock grass, weeping leaves that start off green and lighten towards the top. Carex comans Bronze Densely tufted tussock grass, with bronze leaves, bleached and curled at the ends. Good shelter tree, deciduous 8m. Pseudopanax crassifolius In the juvenile form it has a single stem with long leaves hanging downwards. In its adult form it has a thick leaved rounded head on a straight bare trunk.
