2 2 24 HOUR JUICE CLEANSE Welcome, my friend to your 24-hour juice cleanse. We are going to have a ton of fun getting your body back into balance, and if you are already feeling balanced, then we are going to take it to another level. Are you ready to Juice up your life? Of course you are because you are ready for a slimmer you, reduced belly bloat, endless energy, and a radiant glow. There was a time when I did not feel so hot. I was tired, sick and had a host of digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, and sleep troubles. I was addicted to sugar and caffeine. I had no idea what to do. I remember being introduced to my first Juice. It was love at first sip. I could feel the Juice running through my veins. I could feel a burst of energy. I could not believe how amazing I felt. I went into my local health food store and bought my first juicer. Yep, I was hooked. I still have that Juicer. WHAT CHANGED IN MY LIFE? I had more energy. I had fewer wrinkles. I had clearer skin. I had better bowel movements. I had better sleep. I had less dry skin. My hair was shiny. I had fewer or almost no cravings for sugar. I drank less coffee. I lost weight.

3 3 WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I INTRODUCED JUICING TO MY MOM? She lost weight. Her acid reflux reduced. She felt less bloated. She had better bowel movements too. WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I INTRODUCED JUICING TO MY CLIENTS? All the above and more. Why? Juicing gives the digestion a rest, and when that happens the body can naturally detox, rest and repair. Juicing allows you to give your body liquid nutrients instantly, which is why you feel a rush and a burst of energy the moment you drink your juice. How often do you eat the rainbow? How many cups of vegetables do you eat a day? I am talking about raw vegetables loaded with live enzymes, nutrients, and vitamins. Think. Is it 2 cups or 5 cups or 20 cups? It is hard to eat 20 cups of raw vegetables, but you can juice the rainbow and consume tons of vegetables, giving your body exactly what it needs for the day.

4 4 ARE YOU CRAVING HAPPINESS AND BALANCE? I was, and that is what led me to juice. I needed balance in my body, spirit and mind. I needed liquid greens to cool my liver, revitalize my body and regenerate my cells. Balance is achieved when we get a variety of fruits and vegetables, and I am going to show you how easy it can be. Juicing alkalizes your body and releases acid wastes that lead to inflammation, weight gain, and even depression. An acidic body can lead to imbalance and cravings. If you are craving sugar, caffeine, or salt, these are signals of imbalance in the body and your body wants to be nurtured. Let's nurture you now with a simple juice cleanse. HOW TO MAKE YOUR JUICE CLEANSE POSSIBLE: Step #1 - Review the Juice Cleanse Recipes. Make sure you have everything you need for your simple juice cleanse. Step #2 - Get into the mindset of cleansing. If you find yourself feeling cold after juice, drink a warm cup of chamomile or peppermint tea. Step #3 - Go organic. You are worth it, and so is your Juice. Buying pesticide-free vegetables and fruits are essential for healthy hormones, a balanced body and healthy detoxification. Step #4 - Add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds to your juice if you need extra protein, 1 tablespoon of spirulina or E3Live. You can get these fabulous ingredients online or at Whole Foods (except for E3Live where you need to visit their website). Step #5 - Create sacred space. Do your juice cleanse on a day where you can rest, relax and rejuvenate. Step #6 - If you feel tired, mineral up with 8 ounces of coconut water or 20 ounces of water with a dash of sea salt, a teaspoon of honey and the juice of one lemon. Step #7 - Do not forget your protein milk at night.

5 5 DURING THE CLEANSE: I suggest you drink five juices daily, oz. each. (See the suggested order for each day below.) If you feel tired, you can also drink a nut milk for extra protein in between your juices such as almond milk, cashew milk or hemp seed milk. My favorite recipe to make nut milk at home is included here (or you can buy almond milk at Whole Foods, Trader Joe s, Thrive Market or at your natural health foods store).

6 6 LET S BEGIN THE JUICE CLEANSE. If you wish to repeat the 24-hour juice cleanse, go for it. If you do not have a juicer, you can get juices at Whole Foods, your local health foods store or contact a juice delivery company such as myorganicjuice.com (they deliver nationwide in the United States). You can blend the protein milk with any of the following for extra fiber: 3 tablespoons hemp seeds, flax seeds, or pumpkin seeds 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1-2 figs or dates, soaked, with the pits removed ½ cup berries Feel free to add one or more superfoods such as maca, lucuma, cacao, shredded coconut, or delicious spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg DRINK THESE JUICES IN ORDER (REFER TO RECIPE SECTION) 8 am: Wake UP 11am: Liquid Magic 1pm: Energy Boost 3pm: Alkalize Warrior 4pm: 4 ounces of coconut water 6pm: Live Green 8pm: Protein Almond Milk

7 7 RECIPES WAKE UP 2 Cucumbers 1 handful of romaine 7 stalks of celery Juice of 2 lemons 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric powder or 1-inch fresh turmeric LIQUID MAGIC 1 handful kale 2 cucumbers 1 green apple Juice of 1 lemon 1-inch fresh ginger ENERGY BOOST 1 handful spinach 1 handful parsley 1 small beet 5 celery stalks 1/4 inch ginger Juice from 1 lemon ALKALIZE WARRIOR 1 handful kale 4 celery stalks 1 green apple 5 mint leaves 1 handful Swiss chard Juice of 2 limes

8 8 LIVE GREEN 2 cucumbers 4 stalks celery 1 handful of parsley 1 handful of cilantro Juice of 2 lemons 2 ounces of aloe vera juice PROTEIN MILK Almond Milk makes 4 cups 1 cup raw almonds, soaked for 8 hours 4 cups water Liquid sweetener to taste (optional) BLEND THE ALMONDS. Take your soaked almonds (throw away the soaking water), and place them in a blender. Add the 4 cups of fresh water. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes until the almonds are ground down. SEPARATE THE ALMONDS FROM THE MILK. Pour your almond milk into a nut milk bag* over a large bowl. Squeeze the bag so that the milk flows through the bag and into the bowl. The almond pulp should be left inside the bag. REFRIGERATE YOUR MILK. Sweeten your milk if desired. Place your milk into a container, and place it in the coldest part of the refrigerator. The milk should last 2 to 3 days before spoiling. *NOTE: Don t have a nut milk bag? Try a clean, white T-shirt or the leg of a pair of nude pantyhose instead.

9 9 COMING OFF OF YOUR JUICE CLEANSE UPON WAKING: Drink 8 ounces of warm lemon water with 1 tablespoon of Bragg s raw apple cider vinegar and a dash of sea salt. BREAKFAST: Enjoy a smoothie, or a bowl of oatmeal or quinoa. LUNCH: Have a simple salad (e.g., spinach, sprouts, 1/2 an avocado, fresh parsley) and add lemon juice, Bragg s raw apple cider vinegar, and sea salt. DINNER: Make a warm bowl of vegetables topped with avocado and your choice of protein. Continue to stay hydrated, eat clean, snack and enjoy feeling lighter and brighter. RELEASING THE TOXINS While some people enjoy a burst of energy during a detox, you may experience some of the following withdrawal symptoms as your body rids itself of unwanted toxins: Headaches Body aches Fatigue Loose stools Mood changes Itchy skin Do not get scared. Releasing toxins is a good sign that the cleanse is working and that the symptoms won t last long. But to minimize any unpleasant symptoms, I encourage you to take an Epsom salt bath, relax and treat yourself with love. Drink your juice and chew. The more you chew your juice, the more the digestive juices flow in your body.

10 10 One of my favorite ways to combat detox symptoms is by using a skin brush. HOW TO SKIN BRUSH: 1. Skin brush with a dry brush (made for this purpose) before you shower or bathe. My favorite is made by Yerba Prima, available from Amazon or your local natural foods store. 2. Always brush toward your heart with the flow of the lymphatic fluid. 3. Begin at the soles of your feet and then move up your legs, brushing in a circular motion. 4. Brush your chest and shoulders toward your heart in long strokes, and then start at the fingertips and brush toward your body. Use small, circular strokes in your armpits. 5. Move in a circular motion counterclockwise on your stomach to respect the direction of digestion and encourage detoxification. You can buy a skin brush online, at Whole Foods or use an old towel.
