It is often called musclewood because the trunk resembles muscles. It produces separate male and female catkins with the female catkins turning into attractive winged nutlets. Goldspur AMUR CHERRY Prunus maakii Jefspur Description: A compact selection with dense, dark green, peach-like foliage. It produces small black fruit in summer. The gold color bark exfoliates and provides an interesting winter feature. An excellent small tree for the landscape. Autumn Purple ASH Fraxinus americana Description: Has a pyramidal shape when young, oval shape when mature. The green summer leaves have an outstanding reddishpurple color in fall.
