4 Mixing and Feeding Directions 1. Lambs should receive colostrum soon after birth. Remove lambs from ewes 1 day after birth, if possible, and start lambs on Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer. 2. Provide fresh, clean water and a high-quality dry feed on a free-choice basis at all times. 3. Mix 0.25 lb of Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer in 1 pint of warm ( ºF) water, or for large batches mix 2 pounds of Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer with 1 gallon of warm ( ºF) water. 4. Hand Feeding - When hand feeding by bottle. Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer should be fed at ºF. The following feeding schedule is recommended: After Colostrum Feeding to 3 Days - Feed 1/3 cup of reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer 4 to 6 times a day at 4 hour intervals. 4 Days to 2 Weeks - Gradually decrease the number of feedings and increase amount of Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer per feeding. At two weeks of age, 1 cup of reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer 3 times per day is sufficient. 2 Weeks to Weaning - Feed reconstituted Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer twice daily and in gradually increased quantities. 5. Free Choice Feeding - If using devices to give lambs free access to Ultra Fresh Lamb Milk Replacer, it should be fed cold at about 40ºF. Cold milk is used to limit intake and prevent overeating. When starting lambs on nipples they will require assistance. However, they will adapt readily and nures independently within 1 to 2 days. 6. Keep milk replacer feeding equipment clean. 7. Provide a high quality creep feed at a few days of age and continue on a free-choice basis. Fresh, clean water should be provided at all times. 8. If scouring occurs, continue to feed milk replacer but also feed electrolytes and water, seperately. If scours persist contact your veterinarian for proper treatments. 9. Lambs should be weaned from milk at 4 to 6 weeks of age or about 25 pounds of weight. Reduce milk replacer feeding a few days prior to weaning to encourage creep feed intake.

Mix replacer powder according to the schedule listed below by adding powder to water as indicated and mix thoroughly. Milk Replacer Powder Water ( ºF) Individual Calf 12 oz. +2 quarts Large Batch 1.5 lb (24 oz.) +1 gallon Feeding Directions (2 days to Weaning) NOTE: Always offer free choice water. Small Breeds: Feed 2 to 2.3 quarts twice daily. Large Breeds: Feed 2.3 quarts twice daily (fill 2 quart bottle to rim) Three Times Daily and/or Cold Weather: It is beneficial (especially in cold weather) to feed three feedings of calf milk replacer spaced evenly through the 24 hours. Mix as above and feed 2 to 2.3 quarts per feeding. A characteristic of this product is a slight layering that occurs after a prolonged period of time. If layering occurs, re-mix before feeding. General Recommendations 1. Feed newborn calves 3 quarts of high quality warm colostrum via nipple bottle within 1 hour of birth and repeat 12 hours later (or) feed 4 quarts of high quality warm colostrum by esophageal feeder within 1 hour of birth and repeat 12 hours later via nipple bottle as much as they will consume. 2. Consult with your veterinarian on a dry cow and calf vaccination program including but not limited to E. Coli, rota and corona virus, clostridium and salmonella. 3. For best mixing, continuously stir with wire whip while adding powder to ºF water (hot as you can tolerate on your hand). Use correct water temperature to avoid product seperation. Feed milk replacer at ºF. 4. Begin feeding milk replacer on day 2 and provide fresh, clean water along with a high quality, palatable calf starter on a free-choice basis. 5. Observe calves closely during the milk replacer feeding period. Avoid underfeeding, which may result in starvation, or overconsumption which may increase incidence of scours. 6. Continue to feed milk replacer until the calf is consuming a minimum of 1.5 pounds of calf starter per day, which usually occurs at 5-7 weeks of age.
