4 OMS UPGRADES & KEY FEATURES OMS 3 valuable ways to help you make selections to get your message to the recipients best suited for your products and services. 1. Annual wine production Wineries are stratified by their annual case production volume allowing logical selects based on their size. Users wanting to limit a promotion to specific sized entities have this option. OMS-Advanced customers can search and export data by case production in both actual and range values. The production ranges are grouped as follows: Large 500,000 cases or more per year Medium 50,000 to 499,999 cases Small 5,000 to 49,999 cases Very Small 1,000 to 4,999 cases Limited Production Less than 1,000 cases 2. Search and select recipients by function Selecting recipients on their reported function allows you to capture all contacts performing seven different functions, regardless of their title. This is a more inclusive approach to selecting personnel. Our experience shows that lead winemakers my have title of Owner or Vice President. Searching on function ensures that all key contacts are included in your mailing. The functions available for search and selection are: President/Owner/General Management (POG) Winemaking (WM) Vineyard Management (VM) Cellarmaster/Production (CP) Tasting Room (TR) Sales/Marketing (S) Purchasing/Finance (PF) 3. County Wineries are tracked by county. This allows searches to pull by this key descriptor. This allows flexibility of multiple cities as well as leeway to include wineries that have variances between mailing and location city names. 4. Additional key features Discover the flexibility and power of our online searchable access to wineries: drill down capability on the fly in addition to production ranges, OMS-Advanced ability to search on actual production values create and save searches for re-use using your own descriptive search names update saved searches with different criteria ability to group multiple searches for single output download capability output results as index reports or mailing labels management summaries by state full data updates available for OMS-Advanced customers (winery mailing address correction information updated on first of each month)
5 OMS WINEMAKING REGIONS Continuing Features for all Levels Search wine region within state Within the highest volume wine-producing states, we have defined winemaking regions. Based on location zip codes and counties we have grouped hundreds of wineries into these wine regions: California Central Coast California Central Valley California North Coast California Sierra Foothills California Southern California New York Long Island New York Finger Lakes New York Hudson Valley Oregon Columbia Valley Oregon Southern Oregon Oregon Willamette Valley Washington Columbia Valley Washington Yakima Valley Region Within State Defined by Counties State Region Counties CA California - Central Coast Monterey, SLO, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Santa Barbara CA California - Central Valley Kern, Merced, Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, Stanislas, San Joaquin, Sacramento, Yolo CA California - North Coast Mendocino, Lake, Napa, Sonoma CA California - Southern California LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Ventura CA California - Sierra Foothills Yuba, Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa NY New York - Long Island Nassau, Suffolk NY New York - Finger Lakes Cayuga, Livingston, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tompkins, Yates NY New York - Hudson Valley Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Saratoga, Ulster, Westchester OR Oregon - Columbia Valley Umatilla OR Oregon - Southern Oregon Douglas, Jackson, Josephine OR Oregon - Willamette Valley Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington, Yamhill WA Washington - Willamette Valley Benton, Clark, Franklin, Grant, Klickitat, Okanogan, Walla Walla WA Washington - Yakima Valley Yakima
6 OMS DATA COLLECTION & DEFINITIONS Methodology Throughout the year, wineries are contacted by mail, and phone. New wineries are identified and contacted by Wines & Vines utilizing proprietary methods including: cross-referencing with press mentions, competition awards, winery association members as well as other primary research methods. Existing wineries are updated annually, including changes in: address, naming, production, brands, personnel. Updates are available to users annually or monthly, depending on service level. Virtual Winery The winery count includes virtual wineries. A virtual winery has a unique physical location (which may be another entity s winery), produces at least one brand (may have multiple brands and/or produce for others) and has its own winemaker and management (may share either of these with another entity). Count of Wineries The winery count includes all active bonded wineries licensed by the TTB and all virtual wineries; additional bonded production or storage locations under the same management are not considered as unique wineries and are not included in the counts.
